Stara sveta gora

Description of peak:
Stara sveta gora, or popularly "Old Mountains above Podsreda", is a hill northeast of Podsreda on the southern slopes of the hills separating the Bistrica and Sotla valleys. The main building just below the top of the mountain is the Church of Our Lady of Sorrows, or officially the Church of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. The original church must have stod in the 14th century, but the present church dates from the beginning of the 15th century. A little lower down from the church is the chapel of Sts. Older is the chapel of St Anne just above the church, which was probably built in the 14th century.

On the hillside there is also part of the hillside settlement of Gradišče. From the top there are views of Podsreda, Podsreda castle and the Bistrica valley to the north of Podsreda. The summit can be reached on foot via the extremely scenic Stations of the Cross or by road from the same starting point.
