Mangart

Description of peak:
Mangart (also Mangrt; both spellings are grammatically correct) is a mountain that attracts a very large number of visitors in summer. The approach to the summit is considerably shortened by a road that reaches over 2,000 m. One of Slovenia's highest peaks, it has a cross at the summit and a summit register box below it. The spacious summit offers beautiful views in all directions, with the finest view of the neighbouring Jalovec, only a few metres lower. The Italian Julian Alps are also clearly visible.
