Description of peak:
Ajdovski gradec is a small hill to the east of Bohinjska Bistrica, rising to the right above the Sava Bohinjka. Access is possible from Bohinjska Bistrica and the village of Bitenj.
The hill is partly overgrown and the view is only of the Lower Bohinj Mountains from Črna prst to the west, Dobrava and part of Bohinjska Bistrica, where the church of St. Nicholas catches the eye.
At the top there are benches with a table, an information board about archaeological sites from the Iron Age and Roman times and plaques with verses by Franz Prešeren (Ajdovski gradec is mentioned in the epic-lyric poem Krst pri Savici).
Due to the lush vegetation, a visit is most recommended in spring and late autumn.
