Yesterday morning trampled a nice track in idyllic landscape to the top. On top up to 30 cm snow, if old snow crust gave way then about 60cm.

Right on top of Vošca a hole formed in snow: diameter about meter, depth 2 meters. Looks like snow melts in this shape. So far no one seems to have fallen in. No thrown snow around it, so not dug by human hand.
Friend and I couldn't explain this phenomenon. Anyone have smart explanation (physical)? Wind during snowfall? Warmer ground spot?
You can go see it - will last about a week.

Deep hole in ground where warm air evaporates and melts snow. Happens often. Something like that right on path between hut on Komna and hut under Bogatin.

Silvester Vošca. First time on this peak. Weather warm, sunny, real beach on top and fairy-tale views. From Srednji vrh on foot to Jurež farm and directly up to the peak. Path very steep and quickly gain height and views . Snow was quite crusty and sinking a lot in places. Path itself nicely followable by tracks of predecessors.

Yesterday, Saturday Jan 1, later afternoon. For soul and spice from Srednji vrh past Jurež farm (Pri Merklnu), on along track and above road straight up to top. Quite steep, some 100m above Jurež snow patches start. At cross road under Vošca and on more of it but trodden. On south areas sinks, so gaiters sensible.
Views from top and evening afterglow unique. What (if any) blood red clouds on first eve of new year mean, maybe clear next year.

Today to Vošca for nice views. Snowshoes were just right for the last 150 elevation meters.

21.3.... Snow across the plateau to the top is still quite plentiful. On descent one usually postholes and the foot quickly gets stuck in a hole. Possible without crampons, just careful on the snow. And a few more pics, beautiful views on the upper plateau are divine.. Enjoy with me.

Sometimes the weather forecast is not quite accurate.... instead of the expected clear skies to the top, there was quite dense fog that started thinning, so in about an hour I took some pics that at least have some "renowned extras"...

Opazovalec, I'd say it's accurate only sometimes. They hit it only when half of Europe is clear.

In the last two months they've shot in the dark so badly several times they should be ashamed. Evening forecast dry tomorrow, next day rain already in the morning, not just once. Less than twelve hours later. Vice versa too, instead of rain till late afternoon, beautiful sunny day already mid-morning.

The Saturday forecast was dry weather, lots of fog and low clouds persisting all day in places. Anyone expecting sun the whole way to Vošca on this forecast shouldn't blame the weather report but their own functional (il)literacy.
