26.12.Up to under Vernar, as that was the original goal
Morning 7:00 start from Rudno polje towards Stud. preval, I was a bit tipsy and on the way jump also to Ablanca, better half gets bored quickly, we continue to Vodnik hut.At it we turn towards Bohinjska vratca.Up to here some small non-problematic snow patches, from here on it will soon bloom again.Jump to Vernar, beautiful and fascinating mountain with some smaller precipice details, but nothing serious.Sky without a cloud, short-sleeve temperatures and quick ascent to Vernar convinced us for ascent to (hitherto unconquered) Tosc.We went straight from Boh.vratca up into the wall, at start the path is followable, then it disappears. Some orientation and logical passages over rocks and already on meadows bit below Tosc.Followed a bit longer sunbathing and admiring surrounding mountains. Then quick descent to Rudno polje, packed full of cars, probably had cross-country/biathlon competitions. Then to Jager for well-deserved beer and home into embrace of the kids.

Yesterday's visit without special features,Started from Pokljuka, only in the morning surprised by rain to Jezerc and consequently a bit wet grass, roots, mud, rocks...At Vodnikov dom very lively in the morning, most heading to the highest, some even to the valley. From here to Bohinjska vrata quickly gaining height through steep grass, only chamois for company who occasionally caused rockfalls. From forepeak to summit need to be a bit careful through the ridge, cairns nicely show the way.On top pleasure with views and looks at already hiked peaks and searching new goals...Same way back, in between short breaks with chat of known hillwalkersnasmeh
On Pokljuka I was still heavily soaked, from Srenjski preval onwards it started clearing.1
Nice path around Tosca allows views.2
Up there above Vodnikov dom is where I'm heading today.3

Start in the morning in Krma (just before seven). Nice, clear, cold morning. Over Konjsko sedlo to Vodnikov dom. Ascent to Bohinjska vratca and ascent towards Vernar summit. Traverse along crumbly ridge to Vernar summit (just after twelve). Return over Bohinjska vratca. Follows arduous descent and just after three p.m. at the starting point.
Nice, warm, autumn day in Julijci

Vernar-Triglav(Gorjanska)-Rž (26.05.18)

From Krma via Bohinjska vrata to Vernar. The trail is beautiful. Past Vodnikov dom via Konjsko sedlo to Planika. From there via Gorjanska pot to Triglav. The protected trail is dry, only the exit is still snowy. Softened snow allowed passage without crampons. Descent from the summit to Kredarica and then to Rž to finish. No thunderstorms, warm, no wind.

Good luck

Yesterday, 16.06.2018 to Vernar from Krma. The trail is completely dry except for two snow patches toward Bohinjska vrata. We bypassed one snow patch, crossing the other right below the pass wasn't problematic. The path from the pass is steep and pleasant, the scrambling is also pleasant and doesn't pose major difficulties. Wonderful day.

In the morning until about 9:00 it was completely clear, then fogs started chasing that enveloped all surrounding peaks. Later the fog slowly lifted, but too slowly to wait for better views at the summit. On descent at the narrowest part a jumping chamois positioned itself over the "trail" and wouldn't move. When it saw I was photographing it, it even posed until it got bored, then elegantly climbed onto a nearby pinnacle and disappeared as quickly as it appeared.
At Vodnikov dom the warden says there's 10x less visitors compared to last year at this time.

Up from Krma. Some crowds at P, up to Polje where I turned toward Bohinjska vrata, we got separated, from there to the summit and back to the trail all alone. Along the path two herds of chamois and some marmots above Velska dolina. At Vernar summit I remembered the book Five Centuries of Triglav by Julius Kugy and his words: "Triglav is not a mountain, Triglav is a kingdom." While enjoying the views I had a privilege that those on the father's summit didn't have. Namely, the view of the father himself. Vernar summit was extremely flat, several times I already lifted my rear, thinking time for descent, but just as many times I quickly planted it back on the rock and continued enjoying the divine day. I spun like on a carousel admiring mountains on all sides of the sky, remembering past tours, thinking also of some I'm waiting for a long time and a couple that I've accepted are not meant for me. Sure, they say "never say never", but if a few more epidemic waves happen and they restrict movement again one way or another, time will simply run out. So it's a shame to waste time measuring who has longer in any category on the mountain points net, better to lift your butt from the couch and go up somewhere, if that doesn't work, then to the first ice cream shop for a scoop or two.
ATTENTION: At Polje, the plain where the path to Vodnikov dom branches off, the junction is very poorly marked. On a larger boulder left of the path there's a small wooden sign "Vodnikov dom" leaning, but the path is almost invisible due to avalanches from last winter. Best to follow the cairns to the forest, there the path becomes more visible and following further is no problem.
Wonderful day, great memory for later years nasmeh

Bojan, Vernar isn't quite easy, I remember how my sister and I crawled on all fours. The ledge under the ridgelet is really narrow and any wrong step could be the last..nasmeh

turbo, you presented the tour nicely to us, also with your thoughts, I always like thatnasmeh. It came to mind that I've often noticed this branch toward Bohinjska vrata, but haven't gone up from this side yet.
But I have Vernar in good memory, and also bitter, in terms of great fear, because we went up with kids and concern about possible fall was quite present in the upper part. But it all ended happily, as most timesnasmeh. Need to repeat it, I got quite nostalgic!

turbo, you've nicely revived memories and at the same time made cravings. Visiting him is wonderful, especially if you experience sunrise on it. I remember waiting on the first summit for the sun to peek out, meanwhile browsing hribi.net and realizing I hadn't reached the real summit yet velik nasmeh and checked the time if I had enough time for 10 minutes, and it worked. Fun adventures when I remember back. nasmeh Good thing we have hribi.net for klutzes like me.

Yesterday we hiked the nice path to Vodnikov dom starting-end of the road on Pokljuka. I continued further to Vernar. From Vodnikov dom along the marked path to Bohinjska vrata and then off-path on a very demanding route to the summit of Vernar. On the summit wonderful view towards Triglav and other peaks.

Nice mountaineer's greeting.

Something similar to what Janez wrote last - harder and easier group. Some to Bohinjska vrata, some to the summit nasmeh

These days, on the extended weekend, the weather really serves excellently. All day already quite summer warm. And phenomenal views. Larches are already golden above Konjščica, higher up brown or completely bare. Conditions though - without any surprises.
