Vernar didn't work out for me on Friday. Since I was alone I didn't risk crossing the exposed ridgelet from the forepeak. The rock was still damp in the morning. The path to the forepeak was also wet, slippery-great caution needed on descent. This time I came to Velo polje to Vodnik hut from Uskovnica via Konjščica pasture. First time I chose this approach. Soon regretted it, as the forest path soon after Uskovnica from timber hauling was completely churned up, muddy. In between even came upon harmonious singing from scout camp-something unique. Just sat down there and listened. Path from Konjščica pasture to Vodnik hut is well known to us. Actually the return path to Uskovnica pasture was more interesting. From Zgornji Tosc pasture descended in zigzags to abandoned Spodnji Tosc pasture. Unfortunately the path partly buried with numerous small rockfalls. Further from pasture the path is nicely laid out. On one section even secured with cable. Partly runs on exposed steep slope. It's marked, just seems little used. Not many hikers. But it drags on about two hours from Zgornji Tosc pasture to Uskovnica.

Vodnik should know mountain names for orientation and in picture 15 it's Veliki Draški vrh not Tosc. nasmehmežikanje

You're right otiv. Indeed Veliki Draški vrh visible from Vernar forepeak. Seems Tošč and Veliki Draški vrh touch. From this side both look inaccessible-from south nice grassy areas-especially Tošč.

On 26.8. climbed Vernar with colleague. Mountain wonderful, like guardian over Vodnik hut. Chose right day, path in steep dry, climbing no big issues, cairns and logical passages help. Summit fulfilled big wish, pleasure to sit on top enjoying views of giant Triglav and surroundings.

Today on Vernar from Rudno polje. Conditions mixed...to Jezerca partly icy, further to Studorski preval some snow, bit ice and some dry nasmehFrom pass to Vodnik hut mostly dry with some icy sections. From V.hut to summit dry.

Wine ridge is dry, some small snow from Vodnik hut to Bohinjska vrata but no problems.

No. But from the forepeak towards the top of Vernar (short descent) there can be an annoying single snow patch on the ridge. Due to softening it slipped under my feet.
