Really wonderful pictures of the beautiful path that my friend and I hiked in summer and I still remember it well, but on the photos it's almost nicer than in memory. Bravo!

Nice! Did you overnight at the 7 lakes? Is the path from 7 lakes to Prehodavci (of course over Beautiful Špičje) ok (markings, traceability)?

Janez, I didn't overnight, chose a looong day version. From Savica total ascent surely 2000+ m (incl. traverse which is quite up-down), distance also quite a bit. Needed 15.5 h (if taking leave, better make good use of it, hehe), quite more than expected, but some time for photos - and enchanted staring :-)
As ravnjak wrote, path not hard to follow. From 7 lakes to summit markings exemplary, quite new; on ridge washed away, poorly visible - but no orientation issues - path follows ridge line precisely.

No problem following in good weather on Špičje ridge, in fog yes, markings are sparse and even those faded... Foreigners or those who don't know the path often have trouble in poor conditions

We started above Soča at the dam around 1000m and climbed via Tumova route to the summit of Great Špičje. Descended to Zasavska hut, there to the lake for water. Descended back to Trenta to the second car. Super conditions, weather held up.

Matej,
when going from grass right into the wall to the ledges, still any cairns? Years ago we went straight up the gully from grass (III), down Tumova and remember easily hitting ledges and small ledges cuz quite some cairns.

Honestly, I only remember two cairns - one at the entry and one at the exit. Otherwise I don't know exactly which passage you had in mind, but going up orientation isn't such a problem, at the transition from the first to the second gully there are probably several options. If you went in the reverse direction, it would probably be harder.

thanks to both. Long time ago since we did this tour. From the top of the grass we continued into the gully (III) and above it reached the ridge and marked path. Descended to the notch via marked trail, then left down to Tumova. At the notch I remember marking, just below it a cairn. Then to the exit from the wall, to the grassy ridgelet, on transitions from ledge to ledge there were still some cairns that unerringly showed the right descent direction. Nice tour, I'd like to repeat it some day via our descent route, that III I certainly wouldn't tackle myself.

To Veliko Špičje from Blato via direct path past the Hut at Double Lake. In the valley of seven lots of people, mostly foreigners, as soon as I turn left towards Špičje, pure solitude. Enjoyment to the summit. First I ended up in clouds, then it cleared. I waited for the morning in sleeping bag, next morning back the same way. On descent caution needed in upper part due to wet grass. Also met a small snake that hid right away. Actually I was more scared of it than it of me
