Today from Krma over Konjsko sedlo to Planika and over Mali Triglav to top of our homeland.
On whole path didn't use winter gear, some did, of course each decides self, footprints in fairly soft snow. More on one part just before Mali Triglav and then bit below summit, in between walk on rock too.
Nice day sun surrounded, summit some wind, so alone on top few moments, which today not much visited. nasmeh

the ridge holds the sea of clouds so they don't fall into Krma

a bit more snow under the second head - Mali Triglav

the path from Kredarica looked more snowy

tower on Dobrač and behind Sauleck and Hochalmspitze

when there are no people, you meet a local here too

Yesterday conditions from Planika over Mali Triglav - path mostly bare, except MT to T relatively frozen snow some parts, could bypass on rocks or cable helped. Of course careful ascent descent, wet sole not good with rocks. Yesterday realized Triglav ascent real pleasure when no endless horde column up there... nasmeh

Calling horde people who want to approach highest peak not appropriate to me.
Of course each should think how many times necessary to go up there. Especially such mountain very burdened.

There can't be any terrible snow considering that the two French guys broke Nejc's record from nine years ago on Friday 14.10, which was 2h25. Now it's 2h21min. Krma-Triglav-Krma /up down

Today I was at the summit from the Planika side. Mostly dry to Mali Triglav, along the ridge you can avoid snow. The last two steep sections before the summit are more demanding, because the snow is packed and slippery. Otherwise there are fixed ropes, so I recommend caution and use of self-belay kit...

Which is the "better" option I'd be hard pressed to say, but there might be less snow on the path to Mali Triglav from Planika than from Kredarica, because it's the south side of the path - but I don't know for sure.
Kafetarca for 16 October mentions mostly dry path from Planika - since then it snowed twice, 5 cm each time, and it quickly melted.
Crampons really won't hurt, even if just for scratching a few meters...

Rome, I'm just passing on a description from someone who was up there on 27.10.22
Up to 2500m no snow. Gorjanska path is completely dry and without problems. Towards the summit when you go around the last bend (where the fixed rope is) there's a 2m snow patch where you need to be careful, then right away fixed rope sprinkled with snow. Towards the summit snow that can be bypassed.

The ridge and towards M. Triglav is worse in places because of snow. Some went without anything, even helmets. Where you can grab pitons, fixed ropes it's somehow OK, there are a couple of sections of a few meters with frozen snow that's problematic. These conditions change depending on sun, wind, melting and freezing of snow/water or not. Anyway, conditions not for everyone.

I'm attaching a few photos for better idea. Personally I descended the ridge without winter gear, on M. Triglav I still put on crampons. This isn't full winter gear, but that was my personal decision. I know why and how to walk with them on different surfaces.

Note that in shady parts there will almost certainly be snow and if you slip on the ridge towards north you probably won't stop even with ice axe.

Today via Vrata - Luknja - Plemenice - Triglav - Dolič - Luknja - Vrata.
The whole path is normally passable, no winter gear needed, just a little snow towards Triglavska škrbina, further to summit dry, on summit a lot of snow gone since last visit.
It was a beautiful sunny day, no wind on summit, views to Veliki Klek, Dolomites, sea, ... jezik

Triglav and the last difficult section across Plemenice

Sleme and Vrtaški vrh, and behind Kepa and Dovška Baba

Špiček, Vrh Zelenic, V. Ozebnik and Jalovec

behind Jalovec, Mangart, Mojstrovk ridge and in front Goličica, Germlajt, Kanceljni

from Dolič towards Planja, Razor, Pihavec, Vrh nad Kamnom
