On Saturday 26.8. ascent to Škrlatica, which passed in phenomenal weather and with a large attendance on the mountain. The path itself without special features, long and demanding, I think a steel cable has been added on the ridge below the summit, which wasn't there 7 years ago. The colleague who went for the first time said that it's his biggest mountain tour so far, which he won't forget. Yes, Škrlatica surely leaves an impression.

So, adding some pics from Friday, 25.8.; the mountain must be experienced and it really gives its mark.

Has anyone been to Škrlatica from Vrata in the last week? Is it dry there too?

Hi! The path to Škrlatica is normally passable. There's some snow in the last, climbing part, but it doesn't cause problems. Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement.
But I'm not hesitating between going or not going, but whether Škrlatica or Veliko Špičje...

Where would you go to Veliko Špičje?

Blato-Dedno polje-Štapce-V.Špičje. Because I haven't been there yet + autumn larches.
Return the same or, with good daily form, to Prehodavce and behind Kopica back to Dedno Polje. I know, big chunk, all-day.

Yes, all-day, but in July. For this you gotta be at least 70% redbull to pull it off without battery.

redbull, yes, that would be honest, without running impossible.

lijaneja, you're right, but I've done similar day tours (e.g. Pogačnikov dom-Gamsovec-Dolič-Kanjavec-Prehodavci-Trenta; but really in August). Will report, probably return the same, because in these golden colors I don't wanna turn back.

Has anyone been to the queen lately? Is there anything special?

Current conditions: near the top there are some snow patches, in some places quite icy. Otherwise the whole path is bare.

Skrlatica- Splevta (07.04.18)

Avalanches have done their thing in the initial forest. From 1500m on, when I got above the fog, expected hard base. From bivouac IV on poles went into backpack as hard traverses started right away. In initial wall as usual steep hard base. From saddle on I stuck to the ridge and didn't go through southern gullies. Hard to say when last visit to the Queen was. Maybe last year. Descent to basins, and ascent above glacier between High and Middle Rokav. Skipped V.Oltar and Dovški Križ due to too much melt and danger still lurking on those two paths. Visit to Splevta and past bivouac to valley.

Whatever anyone thinks of Dejan - he is brave and capable, often also daring. Many more such tours and as little tempting of fate as possible.
