After long years today back to Porezen, this time from Petrov Brdo (Rutkot locallyvelik nasmeh). Path OK, just more marks in forest would be good. No mud this morning and noon, ground frozen.
Fantastic views on summit. Almost regretted not gone elsewhere but still max enjoyed.nasmeh
Hut open for now on weekends if nice weather.

Yesterday early in the morning, to my great surprise the first one breaking trail after Thursday's snowfall to Porezen from Petrov Brdo. No snow at the start, then up to the knees, in drifts you can sink right up to your ass. nasmeh Anyway, quite strenuous trailbreaking accompanied by tireless wind, but still super, refreshing, idyllic hike. No special gear except poles needed this time, but still recommend microspikes just in case. Road completely dry.

Hut open, two guys up there, we had one rožca, on the way down met another guy on skis, otherwise no living souls anywhere.

Despite the foggy morning, the path to Porezen was warmed by the sun. Although a cold wind was blowing on the ridge and summit, the Porezen summit was quite crowded, and the hut with helpful hands offered real warm shelter. We had a wonderful day nasmeh.

today was a wonderful sunny
day on Porezen with wind
the path itself was still quite pleasant
in places frozen
from the ridge to the monument and hut
so at least take microspikes with you!

For the last visit to Porezen in 2011 we decided for a jump into New Year 2012. And so at 9pm we parked at the starting point in Poče village, headlamps on and path under feet. Evening wonderful, sky clear with million stars and nicely lit moon crescent. Path to the ridge passed so quickly, there wind and cold awaited us. No chance to welcome New Year on Porezen summit, so we descended to the hut, where cheerful company was already awaiting New Year. We wished each other all the best, warmed up a bit more and headed back to the valley. Unforgettable experience nasmeh

Some snapshots from yesterday's trip Tuškov Grič - Porezen. Snow is little, about 20 cm there, only where drifted more. Path is nicely passable and mostly well trodden. On forest roads and summit ridge the path is icy and thus dangerous for slipping.

I was up there today from Petrov Brdo and snow and ice begin at 1200 m. Careful steps are needed since the ice is hidden in places. The ridge is passable with 20 cm of snow; only the summit is icy, as Tadej already mentioned—caution is not superfluous.

Good luck.

I'm preparing for Porezen on Saturday, 14.01.2012. I know there's snow as I've read; the hut should also be open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays—is that correct?

@ Katty, weather conditions haven't changed much since the 9th, so conditions from that day still apply.
Hiking crampons won't be superfluous.

Good luck

Conditions today wonderful, but on the macadam from Davča it was at least icy in the morning, then hard snow all the way to the top. Sunny, a bit windy at the top. Hut open.

Which path did you take to the top? I'm deciding which one to climb. Of course the one with the least ice. Microspikes of course come into consideration, even 4-tooth??

Hunters' hut Davča-Porezen, snow already in the forest and to the top with Mount Track microspikes.
But we didn't meet anyone with microspikes. It seems a pity to me to slip if not needed. At least the top is locally strongly icy.

Hello!

Has anyone wandered around Porezen in recent days? I'm interested in conditions on the path from Petrov Brdo to Porezen. Thanks, best regards!
