Today winter (spring) hike to Porezen. Nice weather. Went from Poče on easier path, back on steep. Only little snow left in front of hut.

Hi. Does anyone know something about the current conditions on Porezen? I'd go from Davča. Thanks.

Greetings, snow this evening only for some sample in shade where the sun doesn't hit it, today they say it snowed above 1000 m.a.s.l. but Porezen hasn't shown from the fog yet, but the snow amount probably isn't big... Safe trip

Hey hikers. Can someone give an opinion or path description from Franja Hospital to Porezen summit! Is the path marked? Thanks and safe wishes....

I'm wondering if anyone hiked around Porezen in the last days and if paths are very muddy.

In winter conditions Porezen wasn't for me this year , but I wanted to go to the top in spring when everything blooms ...especially my favorite Carniolan lily . Which wasn't seen anywhere today. This year I planned to reach the summit of Porezen 15x , but it probably won't succeed. Ah whatever...maybe next year . Anyway, I started in Podporezen village at the second sign on the right for Porezen. The path is really flat, the best part is that you walk through the forest for quite a long time, which gives pleasant shade . Well, views of Rodica, Črna prst, peaks above Soriska planina and Triglav soon start accompanying us, you just need to stop a bit and step off the marked path . In the hut, besides me, there were only two older hikers and no one else...and it was 9:30 . Surprised by the modest attendance, I continue to the summit, where it was windy just enough to need to put on a hat. Soon a few hikers come after me, for the fingers of one hand. The view was truly magnificent. From the Julians with Krn and Triglav at the front, to the Karavanks and KSA. Soon I leave the summit and return the same way. Hoč tempted me (that lower peak on the left side when ascending to Porezen), but at the last moment I decided to skip it this time. Instead, I go to Vrh Bače . I meet some more hikers, some of them are already stocking up on spruce tips for tea. Two mountain bikers arrive behind me...full respect to them. After a good hour, I'm back at the starting point. A few pics...

Hello! For katty this: not Krn (pic 15) but surely Kanin range specifically among left snowy peaks, the middle one is Visoki Kanin. Krn is - taking Žabijski Kuk and Vogel as orientation - (ridge before Kanin snowy range) right behind Vogel. Best regards and safe in mountains!

Swiss, you gotta hike more hills to know which hill is really Krn! Katty is right, Krn back left snowy, front as you said Žabijski Kuk and Kobilja glava! Regards.

The position of Krn, viewed from Blegoš (there's an orientation board there), surprised me greatly too.

Hello! Sorry for my ignorance, the amount of snow at this time misled me. Ajda's picture is clearer though. Best regards and good luck in the mountains!

Hi Swiss. No panic at all, we're always learning, I know you've already skied a lot around there and the statement that you'll have to walk a bit in the hills absolutely can't hold. Good luck further.

Hello! Thanks @Flora1 for the compliment. Otherwise, the dry-land season is starting now and scouting future ski peaks. Best regards to you and of course the others on the forum. Happy trails in the mountains!
