Yesterday a real winter day in Pokljuka woods. I went from Jelka to Zajamniki Pasture. Wonderful they were, freshly whitened Pokljuka beauties nasmeh

Today's spring walk across Pokljuka pastures above Bohinj was a real pleasure. There is no real spring yet, but there is a big difference from last week. We started at Zgornje Podjelje, climbed to Konjska Valley and then over Peč to Zajamniki; we descended via Javornica to Zg. Podjelje.

A promise made is a promise kept nasmeh

, so I took our five-year-old to Pokljuka mountain camp. Afternoon spent playing, evening by campfire, night under warm blanket as it was quite cold, and after breakfast we went on a circular path. Started at junction where road goes right to Uskovnica, left to Planina na Šehu. Along gravel road to pasture, short snack and explore it a bit, then after some searching found path to Pl. Zajamniki and walked along highest street in Slovenia. Return past Pl. Praprotnica back to car, then stop for lunch at mountain camp and drive home which our young mountaineer spent in sweet dreams mežikanje

in the evening we warmed ourselves by the campfire

behind the ramp, before this house it is necessary to go steeply upwards across the meadow

to the right of the hut there is a path in the forest

so we barely made our way across Pl. Zajamniki

Just a little more to the car and the loop is complete.

I could definitely say: "This is not it," regarding Zajamniki Pasture, in January, without snow.
Short walk from Zgornje Podjelj.
The path is dry, in the shade some frozen snow here and there, otherwise fine.

Why do hiking trips always have to be demanding? This time easy from Srednja vas to Uskovnica, partly on marked forest path, partly on road. Always nice at the hut on Uskovnica, following current rules. After a short stop, we head past Praprotnica pasture towards Zajamniki, interestingly, most for the first time. Views were nice, but Triglav was hidden in clouds this time. First-timers might miss a turnoff. After admiring Bohinj mountains and Julijci, short stop at the shepherd and back to Uskovnica. Cows and horses enjoy the pastures, hikers too. We found some boletus mushrooms, forest strawberries still there. We pleasantly spent the day on Pokljuka pastures. Even one of my favorite guides Stane hasn't been to Zajamniki yet - we'll fix that in winter idyll with descent to Voje and Mostnica valley.

Goreljek-Zajamniki Pasture. At the beginning of the path there are quite a few fallen spruces, but it's trodden, so with a little effort you can reach the pasture without snowshoes or skis velik nasmeh

. If someone visits Zajamniki in the next days, it's much easier from Rudno polje. More in the pictures...

Long planned, but visited for the first time yesterday nasmeh

. The day wasn't the best chosen, it clouded over too quickly, but no matter. For the first time enough beauty, you have to get used to it gradually. Otherwise the shock would be too great. Yes, we'll return for clearer views soon nasmeh

This is probably the church council site; a church was planned here some time ago.

This view will need to be repeated; it clouded over too quickly.

Otherwise really, the beauty leaves you speechless.

We were returning among the huts; we aired the snowshoes more yesterday.

Yesterday's trip to Zajamniki Pasture from Rudno polje. On the path there's still some snow here and there, which was frozen in the morning hours and pleasant for walking, but softened during the day due to high temperatures. Nice day nasmeh
