Today my friend and I did the tour: Topla (Fajmut) - Knipsovo sedlo - Peca - Končnikov vrh - Topla. There was little snow up to Knipsovo sedlo. On the saddle and further to both summits around 30 cm, which was south-facing today, so in places where it was windblown it sank to the knees.

Obviously we met at Kneps Saddle (thanks for the "refreshment"). We also went (three Himalayans and one ordinary!) from Topla, Kneps route, then from saddle to Končnik Peak, followed by descent back to saddle and then to Peca summit - Kordež Head. Descent via classic path to Hut, which is closed anyway. From hut direction Topla, nice circular route, took us about 5 hours. Snow in places already quite a bit, real winter idyll. Views quite nice, real reward, especially since weather forecast was worse.

Yes, we met at the saddle, for "rcnijo" (refreshment) no problem, we always have it with us for some "rcnijo"-needing hillwalkers, and I myself like to refresh.

Since it looks like stable weather will continue, we plan on Tuesday ascent to Peca from Podpeča, if anyone went up recently some info would be welcome.

Today all you who weren't above 1700-1800m, don't look at pics, it was like in a sunny fairy tale . Went from Črna, path without special features, summit a little windy, otherwise down dark, up... Very nice day.

Crampons not needed, we had only small ones and even those not necessary. Path already quite worn, not icy, so boldly up.

I would suggest that a longer list of "conditions" topics be visible on the main screen. Now you post a question, immediately some forumers open new topics and the desired question disappears from the main forum page. Many don't go to the archive to look at questions they're interested in. Hope I was clear about what's bothering me.

The path from Podpeče is well trodden as I mentioned above, from Podpeče to the hut is about 2 hours depending on pace, can go faster too. The path is well marked and no issues.

Today the paths were well trodden-crampons unnecessary. We started from in front of the old customs post (from Podpeče direction). To the hut about 1.5 hours moderate walking and same again to the summit, back goes much faster. Day was gorgeous - sun at heights around 1500m and above, definitely a day for an outing.

Yes, today it was heavenly above 1500m. Was on Olševa. Snow unpleasant for sure, but sunshine outweighed all efforts.

Yesterday we were on Peca too. Started from Austrian side. My first such winter ascent thrilled me because the weather was really gorgeous...

Crampons not needed. We went up by cable car (to height approx 1600m), from there one part of path on ski slope, further the path was already trodden, just here and there sinks a bit. To top of Kordeževa glava we walked 2.5 hours (13 and 9-year-old sons came along, so we weren't among the fastest). Nice regards and nice weekend!
