Lower Sleme-Olševa Trail start quite icy, when steep part begins, lots of bare ground with icy sections, depending on shade. Then shock follows, lots of logs and branches on the trail (foresters' work). Immediately started removing obstacles, without proper tools, didn't achieve much. "Rolled" some logs off the path. Cleared branches from the path, so arrived at Govca with a couple of hours delay. On descent found an axe that was lost (of course, at a place known to me) a year ago when clearing storm damage on Olševa. Helped myself with it, as wind also blew down some new spruces in autumn 2019. Otherwise little snow on path, thus more ice.

The path from Sleme is cleared, but a new skid trail is being dug, so you have to look around a bit. No danger though, because it's not dug above the trail.

ST. JACOB- OLŠEVA-KUMER. Nice sunny morning with light wind, we headed to Govca. New skid trail is made, need to dig path from it to make it walkable. Along the ridge good walking, snow remained quite hard, trail almost completely blown over but visible. To the top some ice. In Mrzli dol at start quite some snow. Quite some snow also around last meadows, there some fallen trees accumulated again. Also some obstacles towards Kumer, digging extension of skid trail towards south too.

Obstacles we saw a few days ago I cleared today. After work headed to Govca. In Mrzli dol quite some snow, but track well trodden for this part. Along Olševa ridge not much snow. Now the path Kumer - Olševa is again without obstacles.

Sleme-Olševa- Kumer As part of K-24 Now the path from Sleme with new skid trails has become even steeper than before. This is felt even more by K-24 hiker if going this direction. Foresters still have quite some junk along the path, wind also diligently blows down more trees for them. From the skid trail poorly dug path that should connect to old path above skid trail. (Machine operator on excavator didn't try hard). Since sand keeps trickling onto skid trail, best to make some larch ladder or steps there when foresters finish. Otherwise half path bare, higher up still some snow-ice. Even on ridge not everywhere dry walking. Approach to Govca almost completely bare. Wintry descent to Mrzli dol with lots of snow. From Foršnerca onward little snow. No new storm damage towards Kumer. But new road due to timber extraction very muddy.

Lower Sleme- Olševa quite some snow, which melts quickly though. Trail is solidly cleared (did some work today). Trail start where sun shines is bare, higher under snow. Don't know about foresters if they will do more or gave up and leave trees to rot. For upper parcel know they won't do anything. But need to dig path some 100m before end of new skid trail and connect to old one, then walking without issues if ignore steepness. Regards J.

On Thursday, 21.5.2020, from sv. Duh past Potočka zijavka to Govca. Day more cloudy than forecast initially, but also lots of sun. Many visitors, more Austrian hikers. From cave wonderful view of northern walls of Kamnik-Savinja Alps. And of course Logarska dolina. At trail start lots of marsh marigolds, a bit further globeflowers, then also gentians. Crossing south slope of Olševa very scenic. Most time see start point too. On path two sections with new fixed cables, crossed without issues. Summit grassy and panoramic. Almost no wind. Back same way, but at new bench anyway went steeply up again to first and second subpeak and to Obel kamen. From there views even better, as KS Alps much closer. Very, very nice places, quite far from home, but worth visiting.

I hoped that by the end of the week everything would be fine and that the weather would hold as forecasted, so that I could luckily set off towards Olševa. Luck was on my side and so I parked in Solčava shortly before 6.00. The view stretched to the slopes over which mists rose and slowly cleared the view. First by bike to Sv. Duh in Podolševa. The air was good, no rush. In a good hour and a half I parked at Strevca, ate a croissant with apricot jam, washed it down with water and continued to the border. The path along the border was wet all the way to the ascent in the gullies towards Potočka zijalka. Everything was squelching. At the junction I decided for the direction of Lipševih vrat, which I haven't seen yet and since they have been tempting me for some time, today was probably the right moment for a visit. Some small puzzles, steps over fallen trees and soon I was there. The path is well passable, protections OK and the gates wonderful. The whole complex of stone sculptures is a real artwork and I immediately knew that I'd return. From the gates I continued on the unmarked path towards Obel kamen. The path is solitary and steep. After about 40 min I crossed the second scree to the right, then the trail pulled past the fallen hunter's blind further right and soon disappeared. I told myself to try to find a passage along the SW ridge anyway. When I stepped to the south side I somehow got up the ridge via steep grassy gully and chamois tracks. I didn't want to descend between the pillars and since fog was chasing me it was quite adrenaline-filled. I stuck to the ledges and slowly moved right, up and down via harder passages towards the marked path to Obel kamen and when I spotted it below me I was glad. I stepped on the path under walls at the junction, left Obel kamen, right Govca. Every lesson costs something as this section took quite some energy from me and so the dash to the summit was well out of breath. Summit sunny and not too windy. When looking around I noticed a trail that would have brought me to the top if I hadn't missed it. Need to repeat. I sat a bit, snacked and headed further along the ridge to Govca. The path is without special features. I enjoyed the views and varied terrain. On Olševa nice, quite some visitors. I descended past Potočka zijalka to Rogarja, at Strevca for a drink and back to the valley. Meanwhile clouds settled on the peaks again. Grateful. Safe!

When you go steeply up from Lipševih vrat towards Obel kamen, after ca. 20 min on a small scree a path branches left to the summit. That's the only orientation puzzle... You'll make it next time.

several times people have already called me when they went too far past that preža and could no longer find the right path to Obel kamen. It seems it just pulls you there. just as Dolf wrote lp

I have a feeling that Zoran was looking for an unmarked path and found it.
