I was on Kredarica two days ago, and for the first time ever (fourth winter ascent) had to use crampons also uphill, downhill even more so when the slushy surface froze immediately in the shade.

Yesterday above Sorica, wind-packed icy snow, no drifting and solidly frozen...
Without microspikes or crampons from Laknar to cairn would be very tricky...

I was today with colleagues, mountain runners on Kredarica. On Kredarica pleasant -12 °C, later the wind started blowing. I continued also to Triglav. But due to strong wind carrying snow crystals I turned back. Otherwise snow was ok - nicely hard. We also met Igor Zlodej.

There were quite a few from the portal who celebrated New Year's Eve on Kredarica and for all those discussing prosciutto let me say it was on the table and cheerfully sliced. There were also plenty of other goodies, above all an overflowing measure of good mood and cheerful atmosphere. In short we spent two beautiful sunny days which will imprint deeply in our souls by their beauty. To those who said they'd come but didn't I can say only that it's a pity for you. I was today with Damjana also on the summit and my comment can only be ......FANTASY

Edi and Damjana congrats for the conquered summit and above all thanks for the pleasant New Year's Eve gathering. Prosciutto was super, the table almost buckled from goodies alone, but the best super was the company. Nice greeting from two Styrians and THANKS it was really unique. Too bad I didn't know,
that you were going to the top, I would have joined you.

Beautiful, gorgeous two days are behind us.
In the morning we arrived already after 6 in Krma and set off still in the dark upwards, it was quite fresh. First time I walked with a headlamp and I had waited for it like little children, I couldn't even sleep from all that anticipation.
The path was nicely snow-covered and there were no difficulties in walking.
At the shepherd hut we stopped and chatted there with friends, with whom we continued all the way to Kredarica.
Further from the shepherd hut a cold breeze caught us, so we also experienced a sudden weather change, but everything calmed down in half an hour, there we also put on crampons and continued.
The hut was full, the atmosphere pleasant, we welcomed the arrival into the new year 2012 in a very interesting, joyful and well-disposed company. Some climbed the next day also to our daddy.
We met many new friends, with some of them we also descended from Kredarica, at the shepherd hut we experienced yet another surprise, when we could drink tea with Alojzij Žakelj from Morbegne and chat pleasantly with him.
What can I say, that I am happy, that I fulfilled the wish that I carried in myself all year, to welcome the new year on Kredarica, that I met so many wonderful people and for the conclusion met also Alojzij, more perfect it can't be
In the new year 2012 I wish you all together that you all be happy just like I am, health and looots of beautiful and safe moments in the mountains, good luck

Nice greeting to everyone, those who were with us on Kredarica, as well as those who weren't. This time the trio from Primorska decided to drive to Krma via the highway and to our surprise we were at the starting point right after 6 o'clock. The path from Zgornja Radovna to Krma was snowy but plowed, temperature appropriate for the season -8, and already quite a few vehicles at the parking lot. The path to Zgornja Krma drags a little but the path was definitely pleasant. Unfortunately, traces of a rescue operation were visible under the Pastirska koča. There friends joined us and together we continued towards Ržki podi. On this section there were icy patches on certain stretches in the steep incline a few meters each, so it was necessary to cross the dangerous parts very carefully. At Ržki podi a surprise awaited us since on this part - the spur, it was blowing quite strongly and the wind carrying snow so it was taking your breath away. When we all expected such unpleasant weather to accompany us to Kredarica the weather after half an hour turned in our favor, the sun shone, accompanying us and caressing us with rays to the hut. The longest night was pleasant, excellent company, while chatting at the well-stocked table we realized we know each other pretty well via nicknames on hribi.net over the internet. Of course the forecasters Rado and his company served us nicely. The atmosphere built up towards midnight, so the animator took excellent care too. Most of us, around 100, counted down the last seconds outdoors. For the first time in life I didn't hear firecracker bangs, but the view into the valley on the beautiful clear night was like being on the front or a storm approaching. Next morning some decided to climb our Father, others were already preparing to head to the valley. In the morning our group also left Kredarica, descent to Pastirska koča was quick, there we met the legend of Triglav massif LOJZET and wished him many more safe steps. After a short photo with the legend we descended to the starting point. Of course we couldn't skip our favorite spot in Zgornja Radovna where we nicely refreshed and sweetened up. To everyone on this forum I wish HAPPY and SAFE STEPS IN 2012.

Hello,
judging by the pictures no doubt you were a super group!
I was on Kredarica at Christmas and stayed overnight too, but there were too few of us to heat up the atmosphere for short sleeves .
Anyway I wish everyone above all health so we can meet in the mountains! Best and safe steps!
