For Varvanje (cave) you apparently have to climb from Martinj trail to Kopa, then continue along the ridge to Rzenik?...haven't been, so it awaits me too ...I viewed it from the saddle when descending from Kopa.

for Varvanje there are two options: go towards Kopa to the saddle, then east along the ridge; easier: before Martinj trail turns over the scree above the wall, go straight up the gully slightly left, not much chance to miss it

This year I'm quite satisfied with "my" municipality. Rediscovering the world above KB. The rest will come here too. Hope soon .

Yesterday (Wednesday, Oct 13) via Martinj trail and further via Gornji Požar to the path under the ridge towards Planina Rzenik. To the top of Rzenik and Konja and down via Dolski graben to the valley. Left car under cable car, to Kopišč 10 min walk along road. Martinj trail was entirely dry and pleasantly so. Only in somewhat exposed traverse above ladder was caution needed over some frozen ground here and there covered with icy snow patches. The little path impressed me as always. Though relatively short (just over 500 m gain), it has everything the big ones have. It has soul of real hunter's path! Narrow trail with switchbacks dug with proper gradients leads comfortably up. Also some steeper bits where hands on rock needed. Not too bad. Wooden bridge still holds, cable too, airy traverse with great views to west Kamnik Alps higher up makes fine atmosphere. At clearing end of Martinj trail took left path to forest road. Few meters lower wider cart track branches left, followed to end. Continued along slope (Gornji Požar) through nice passable forest straight up to west ridge Rzenik. Here and there sensed tiny trail. At about 2/3 to ridge hit barely visible mark, then more cairns and faded marks. At 1600 m where path levels out bigger snow patches start. Quite some downed trees. South-facing snow broke unpleasantly to knees or over at times. Forest up there felt wild and pristine, path hard to follow in such conditions. Lost it a few times but found again. In a week or two probably much better, if this unbeaten passage ever followable without wandering. Glad to hit cleared section through dense scrub last 100+ meters to saddle above Planina Rzenik. Continued on cut path traversing left on Rzenik slope and up to top from west. Then mostly dry to Konja and down via planini Rzenik and Dol along Dolski graben to car. Upper Dolski graben path steeply turns into ravine. Quite a lot of leaves hiding rolling stones here and there, bothers descent a bit. No other issues. Of winter gear only gaiters used, very handy. And goggles and sun cream in upper part.

Thanks, Zoki! And also to everyone who wrote something about this trail on the forum. It was easier to find one's way .

I've continued several times after the end of the Martinj trail upwards towards Planina Rzenik. The trail is nicely traceable in dry conditions, but last spring I got a bit lost once. In the snow I followed the footsteps of the predecessor (somewhere I turned left off the trail) and came to a nice bivouac (in the picture), which is located right before the precipitous edge. When I tried to find it again next time (in dry), I wasn't successful. Anyway, I'll try again soon.

Funny, what all can be found up there , Velocy. Something similar to Hanžek's bivouac on Črna gora... Could it be the Bivouac of Good Will at the location shown in the picture?

Probably it's a bit lower down, because there is very dense scrub, but on the picture it's still in the forest.

j., I think you've located it almost exactly (at least according to my track). It showed me about 1600m asl.

Now we'll all go looking for it in the next six months, to trample the area into a traceable path. That's the usual when some pathless thing hits the internet Nice trip and nice places j.!
