Has anyone recently gone along the Martinj trail to Pl. Dol? I'm interested if the path is okay or if the last winter damaged it somehow? Lp

Yesterday with colleague we did a spring loop tour. Up via Rigelj down via Martinj path, so it doesn't slip my mind too much. As always, trouble after about 12 minutes walking when leaving Dol pasture. The path suddenly disappears. There you have to go slightly left to cart track, then no problems.

I too didn't go to Kopa - second time:-) But for the first time I walked the Martinj path (Vodnik Grintovci-Southern approaches; Stritar) and I liked it very much; descriptions are very good, but you have to find your way a bit yourself - especially before Dol pasture. I continued over Dol pasture to Konj and then over Velika and Mala Planina to the valley. Next time I'll check out Kuklarji.

Martinj path at start due to glaze ice poorly traceable and quite hard to pass. From the mines onwards it improves and then just pleasure of strolling on a lonely path.

On a wonderful day along the Martinj trail. Someone was diligent (thanks really!) and the path is nicely arranged, except a few logs which we can jump over without trouble. The most difficult passage is along the newly shaped road all the way to the turning point and the start of the path. It surprised me how trodden it is after the ice storm, obviously very popular. From the October tetralogy (kuklarji, rigelj, sivnik) the easiest to follow path.

On Monday vacation day fell so I head to the mountains. I choose Martinj trail which I've thought about for a long time but either no time or weather plays tricks. Path is ok just here and there need to step over a log or go around some branches. Nice very enthusiastic. Below also extensive report from the field. From the asphalt road at the end of Kopišč a macadam forest road (logging road) branches off towards the slope, which climbs ever steeper to the turning bay around a large rock. Here we search for the little path that starts on the right side of the incised "roundabout", among fallen trees and undergrowth. Later no more problems, except at "detours" around fallen trees. If we tackle the Martinj trail from the upper side, we go along the forest road that continues from planina Dol past the last cabin towards the west, past the hunting hut (on the left). When the road after about a kilometer starts to climb steeper in the forest, we notice a cart track branching off to the left, which soon continues as a little path, which is harder to follow in autumn or winter due to the cover. Orientation issues end when we reach the edge of the plateau, where the path with ample views starts to descend. Bojan, 19.11.2015

On Sunday 9th April I did the route along Martinj trail to Planina Dol and further to Velika planina. After wandering around Velika planina I descended to the valley via Rigelj. I really don't recommend descent on this path as there is a lot of leaves on the path in the upper part and it's slippery. Otherwise excellent tour also weather was excellent although cloudy at the start and as ordered it cleared later. PICTURES and personal impressions from the trail Lp! Tone

Along Martinj trail to Konj and back via Kamniška Bela (Sunday, 25 October). Actually, I didn't think it made sense to post a description of this experience at first. But from these parts this will probably be my last testimony for a while, so be it. There were five cars at the parking lot behind Kopišči. The path is nicely traceable, only at a slightly overgrown saddle about 10 minutes from the start you need to turn sharply right from the cart track onto a well-visible forest path. In the forest you need to go over fallen trees once or twice. The path then leads under the prominent rock tower of Martinj turn (somewhat reminds me of Raz Sfinge ) and over a rickety wooden bridge along a few meters of steel cable ascends above its top and then crosses into the forest. To planina Dol it's then another twenty minutes up and down and flat. At Dol and towards Rzenik and Konj the crowd started, which somehow intensified towards planina Rzenik. The path was muddy, especially unpleasant seemed to me the mix of mud and slippery stones from planina Rzenik towards Konj. Numerous visitors were returning opposite, between the narrow gap of dwarf pines it was necessary to be considerate on both sides. If at the beginning it still looked like nice weather, at Konj it was already foggy. Good thing the fog at least partially hid the view of several dozen visitors, as many as were milling around at the top and around it. Due to lack of space some even sat on the wooden steps of the secured path. To Presedljaj the weather was similar, only for a moment was it allowed to peek towards the mighty Rzenik wall, behind which a glowing sun disk was visible through the clouds. Visiting the waterfall in Kamniška Bela has become a habit. In this once remote valley, dozens of people were seeking Sunday relaxation in its surroundings. Crossing the watery Bela at the end of the valley was a unique experience with a slight adrenaline touch, from there along the road to the car only ten minutes. Although Martinj trail by name gives the feeling it belongs somewhere among the wine-growing Lower Carniolan hills, in the central part it is actually a very nice hunter's path that has everything "that the big ones have". Nicely laid switchbacks, steep grassy slopes, elegant passages between rocks, even a somewhat exposed traverse above Martinj turn... And surprisingly close to the "civilized" asphalt road. Just solitude was on Sunday also in these areas rather little.

If you want to avoid the crowds, you can also continue from Dol along the hunter's path. I myself at the "end" of Martinj trail, where it joins a worse cart track instead of going down towards Dol, turned left uphill. After 100-200m the cart track turns sharply left, a few meters later (landmark: larger rock on the right) a very overgrown cart track branches sharply right, which soon ends. Continue straight through the forest and after some 10 meters you encounter a path that climbs towards Rzenik (I think its start could be at the first hut on the left when you arrive at planina Dol from Martinj trail). The path, which is mostly very well traceable, takes you to the saddle above Mlakarjeva bajta on pl. Rzenik, from where you can go marked to Konj, or continue directly along the unmarked path to Rzenik (I haven't checked that myself yet). Good luck.

Thanks, Velocy. I'll definitely try it at the first next opportunity. I still need to find the cave where they made shoes during the war and something else, for which there was no time yesterday.
