atmospheric and weather effects have done their thing, so the written price has completely oxidized.

On Sunday we have a planned visit to the top of Košutnikov Turn, on the way back we'll stop at Planina Dolge Njive. Wondering if anyone happens to have the phone number of caretaker Mateja? Thanks in advance...

Sabina here's the phone for the hut on this link: http://www.grs-trzic.si/klic-v-sili-112.html Otherwise today Marjan and I did a circular tour from the parking lot up the western path to the Turn and back down the eastern path. Path without issues. Maybe worth mentioning that on the eastern path you need careful steps near steep cliffs a few meters below the path. We only met one viper, but it was too fast to take a picture. Weather held up, when we sat at the table in Mateja's hut it started lightly raining.

Great Keber1, on Monday afternoon I was at Kladivo. Gotta try Košutnikov Turn after work. And I'd like to see Planina Dolge Njive, now I know one with the same name under Veliki Zvoh on Krvavec and one under Cjanovca in Zaplate area. I'm curious how long you hiked to figure if it fits with a morning tour, since I'm working afternoons for two weeks now. Otherwise I've done morning tours this year, including Storžič from Bašelj, Kalški Greben from Planina Jezerce and Črni Prst from Bohinjska Bistrica. Of course days are shorter now. When days were longer I was usually at the start with dawn, around 5am. Best regards.

From Planina Sp. Dolge Njive you're quickly at Košutnikov Turn, since you start high. And you can go up one side and down the other (via Zg. Dolga Njiva). For me it fitted nicely after work, and I even added both summits of Tolsta Košuta.

I'm not exactly the slowest, so parking-Košutnikov Turn took me 1:30, to Tolsta Košuta 1:45 (via upper Dolga Njiva), from there to car 1:15. Total car to car with stops exactly 5 hours (15:15 to 20:15). Headlamp is mandatory, the path from hut to parking was pitch dark for me, even though I started from Tolsta Košuta at 7pm, that's over 10 min before final sunset. But this was probably my last such long afternoon tour this year, as snow is forecast for Sunday or Monday, and days are getting noticeably shorter. Afternoon tours have really grown on me though, no people, always some animals, low evening sun makes much nicer views than morning ones.

Today I visited Košutnikov turn. Ascent via western route, descent via eastern route. On the western route under the summit, one needs to cross a short snowfield, which on already steep grass can cause some trouble. Summit was in fog today, so better view from Mala Košuta, which I climbed on return. Regards

I too today took the route to Košutnikov Turn. Started at Pungrat pasture, continued to Škrbina then along the ridge to Košutnikov Turn. Took all intermediate peaks in between. On one of them someone forgot a rake and a shovel . Back to the valley via the western path then again to Pungrat pasture. The trail overall dry, only in the morning was the grass somewhat slippery due to icing.

Since I had time only in the afternoon, headed to Košutnikov Turn. Trail dry overall. Where sun doesn't reach it's icy. Otherwise choughs, chamois and me, plus light breeze giving sun real charm. In valleys fog, fog, fog...

Today -19.11. in nice weather, the Turn was crowded, over 30 hikers. But trash bins on our side of border at end of climbing route bothered me. If no such bins, no trash either, since nowhere else there is, as every mountaineer disposes trash in valley. Between Užnik-2079m and Macesje-2124m is Perilnik-2000m?! If anyone knows where, thanks for explanation.

Never heard of Perilnik, between Turn and Macesje should be Ostrv, but where is that then. I was told Ostrv is 2124.

Perilnik might be one of about 12 two-thousanders in Košuta ridge, name known only to local experts.
