That's the right observation @urbancek. And winter gear is needed for visiting mulled wine stalls, and turning back won't be a problem either, because it'll be hot enough everywhere, north and south. big grin

With friends from Poland we climbed Koroška Rinka yesterday. We started below Rinka waterfall and via Mrzli dol on the climbing route to the top. Snow is only at the exit from the lower part of the climbing route right below the notch about 15m long, but with a bit more caution it's not a bigger problem. The continuation of the climbing route on Ledinska side is completely dry. So we really enjoyed the ascent to the top, and we had shade too. velik nasmeh

On the top we congratulated each other, especially one who celebrated birthday yesterday. After a really long stop/enjoying on the top we descended via Mala Rinka and through Turski žleb. Descent through the gully is completely dry, only right at the bottom at the transition from scree to climbing part there are a few meters of snow. Again the upper part over scree, since even after winter there's no trail at all and stones fly down quite a bit while walking. eek

Fixed protections on the whole route were all OK.

Well on Sunday I also conquered Koroška Rinka myself. Original plan was to climb it via Križ, but later changed mind and went via Turski žleb. In the gully there's still some snow, otherwise the scree above is very "loose" and every step sends stones down the valley. So whoever goes through gully, be careful and watch for other hikers.

Marky, Koroška Rinka is Križ. Probably meant ascent from Mrzli dol over the face of Koroška Rinka - Križ to the top.

Today the ascent from Mrzli Dol to Križ was accompanied by changeable weather. Pleasant shade on the north side, partial fog on the south and later sun and wind. Protections OK, no snow anywhere, not even to cool the drink.
On the return via Turski Žleb, where there is really increasingly more unpleasant scree, so the descent is quite risky (for the one below you), as everything flies down.
Super day, super company.

Today on Koroška Rinka. Through Turski žleb snow is super, further to Mala Rinka slightly frozen, visibility poor. From Mala Rinka onwards visibility a bit better, snow more frozen. On descent already heavier snowing, in Turski žleb already up to half meter powder and further snow holds well from rocks. Lp.

If you have or will have any pictures from Ledine towards the couloir between Rinkas (koroška and kranjska) it would be appreciated. How much snow is in it interests me. Best seen from Baba.

This weekend we plan Koroška Rinka via Turski žleb, interested if anyone has info on that path. Second option Planjava from Rinka waterfall and over Kamniško sedlo. Thanks, Lp

13.06 I was on all Rinkas. Crampons and ice axe obligatory, still quite a lot of snow and doesn't sink too much. Here sending you some more pics.
