Started from Podvežak, snow starts approximately one third of the way (1st pic), went in the afternoon so it sank a bit. Lp

It seemed so to me because I know the path from Lonc but it looks a bit different, anyway thanks for the reply, last year there was still snow in June in this area, there was more snow last winter though, but it's nice when it's already full of flowers. LP!

That Lukenj from Podvežak pasture is quite a way to Korošica, you did right not to continue.

What is the condition of the road to Podvežak pasture? Thanks.

The road is normally drivable, only on some parts there are stones on the road that flew from the slope, on one part a big rock by the right edge, but you can pass normally. l.p.

What are the conditions from Podvežak to Kocbek Hut on Korošica? Or to Mala Ojstrica? Is there still any snow that could pose problems?

On the 8th picture you can clearly see how much snow is still there.

I'm interested in the conditions from Robanov kot towards Korošica. If winter equipment is needed.

Currently winter equipment is mandatory everywhere in the high mountains. This path you mention is very likely still under snow and requires full mountaineering knowledge. I recommend the path from Planina Podvežak, the road to there is clear. Best, Jure

Ok. Thanks for the info. I'll stick to the advice

From Roban you usually have to cross at least 3 steep snowfields in this time of year, which require gear and knowledge.

Here the hut has a new look and since most of you probably won't go up there in the next eight months I'm attaching pictures

Bravo Carinthia that they finally managed this financially tough but necessary feat as water and dampness were destroying the hut after the previous poor renovation. You really are a gem of the KSA Alps both in friendliness and excellent cuisine! Hope they'll open the hut as planned on some nice winter weekend for ski tourers and snowshoe hikers.

@viharnik, so there won't be bad blood, the hut is managed by PD Matica Celje and that's not in Carinthia, maybe Carinthians helped financially with the renovation, I don't know that. Best regards!

Probably it is PD Matica Celje, but the hut definitely stands in Carinthia as far as I know. Thanks for the correction Otiv.

@viharnik, Carinthians are really fine folks, but Korosica itself still lies in the municipality of Luce, which belongs to Styria, it's only a couple of 10 meters from Kranjska (Upper Carniola), but at least 10km as the crow flies from Carinthia. Regards
