Kekec - Škabrijel

Access to the starting point:
a) From the expressway Ajdovščina - Nova Gorica take the exit Selo and follow the road in the route Nova Gorica. At Ajševica, turn slightly right, then at the traffic lights, after Kromberk, turn right and follow the road to the parking area near the Kekec guest house.
b) From Tolmin, take the exit to Nova Gorica, where at the roundabout continue in the direction of Ajdovščina and Kromberk. After the sign, at the end of Nova Gorica, you will come to a semaphore crossroads, where you turn left. Follow the road until you reach the parking lot of the Kekec Guesthouse.

Path description:
From the parking lot at the Kekec guest house, continue along the asphalted road. After a good 15 minutes of walking, the asphalt ends and the signs for Škabrijel direct us to the left, onto a dirt road that quickly leads us to the next crossroads. Continue right up (straight Sveta Gora), along the deteriorating road, which after a few minutes, turns off to the left onto a marked footpath. After a short climb, the pleasant path leads to cart track, after which we continue our ascent. Cart track, which climbs gently, slowly turns into a wide footpath. Follow this path, which continues to climb steeply (with the exception of a steep climb of 10 steps), all the way to the top, where the lookout tower stands.
