At first we drive to Mojstrana and follow the road towards Vrata valley where we park on a big parking lot couple of minutes before Aljažev dom. |
Path description: |
From the lot we take the road, closed to the public, which takes us to Aljažev dom cottage I n a few minutes. From the cottage we turn down the turist path by the giant climbing pin, a memorial for the fallen partisan soldier climbers of WW2, through the valley under the majestic north face of triglav and the path soon brings us to a crossroad, where another path branches to the right towards Kriški Podi over Sovatna. We, however, continue straight on, following markings for Luknja. After a while walking by Bistrica we find another fork in the road where we turn right towards Luknja. The left path leads towards Kreadarica and Staničev Dom cottage over Prag. The path here becomes steeper and takes us through rocky outcroppings to the Luknja saddle, from where there is a vies of the Trenta mountains. Path on saddle turns left almost vertically. Safety devices are the to help us. When we scale the first wall the path becomes gradual, but that doesn't mean the trouble is over. There is almost no safety devices from now on and we occasionally walk on narrow path above a deep gulf. Very dangerous in wet. Whet the terrain becomes gradual the hardest part is behind us. We see famous Sfinga here (overhanged pillar in Triglav wall). Soon we lay eyes on unexpressive top. We follow the path to Triglav and it soon branches right. We get to the crossroad where the path from Dolič connects. We go over a scree to the rock wall. We go on the wall with protection which leads us to the mountain gorge under the notch. The path leads over the gorge and we get to the Triglav notch. From here on we walk on a good protected path. Just a few more steps and you're on top. |
