On Saturday a quick trip to Ciprnik through the Pišnica valley to the hunting hut. Then it gets a bit more tricky on snow and steep slope searching for the hunting path under the snow. In winter I don't recommend this variant, but rather the classic way past Mojčing homestead on Vitranc.

From Ajdovščina over Pale along the educational trail to the Hublje spring, then classically to Otliško okno (before that to the stone snail or Stone spiral) and further along the ridge over Navrše, but only to the left junction for Sinji vrh. Then further across the meadow to the main road, where we go about a km parallel to the road, leave it and continue over Pirjevše to Kovk. Then return along the ridge over Sončnica (where there is a paragliding site) and Kraguljc and Podrta gora, then Pravi vrh and Črne stene, and we reach the crossroads where we previously turned towards Sinji vrh. This time we go left towards Ajdovščina. Along the way there is also a nice viewpoint Stara baba, and lower down Peskarca.

Ski touring on Kanin still doesn't disappoint. Start at Sella Nevea parking lot and then along the ski slope to Gilbertij (plan to be at Gilbertij by the ski area opening), otherwise the lift operators might complain. For ascent snowcats are an option, since on some of the steepest parts of the ski slope it's otherwise quite a bitch
From Gilbertij a short descent, then along the prepared track to the saddle and then on the groomed section to Prevala. From there descent to our side, all the way to C station, then return and enjoying the sun at the closed Ski Bumbar - three loungers available. Otherwise snow on our side is super (from D station), it glides really nicely all the way to C station, otherwise snow over the weekend on our side was apparently down to cca 1,400m/1,500m

Some went to the window, others descended via Krnica, in short plenty to choose from.

Nice area for ski touring. Starting point Sella Nevea, then up the road towards Rif. Brazza and further under the cliffs of Špik Hude police.... More at: link

Conditions super, plenty of snow, and really above Pecol there are huge slopes where you can ski nicely.

Does anyone have any info if any snow fell in these parts in the last few days?

On the last day of the year 2025 from Trenta towards Zadnjiški Ozebnik and then return via Dol to Zadnjica. Perfect day, though with quite low temperatures...

From Planina Blato along the path through the gully (path goes more directly than the hunting one) to Planina Krstenice. Then over the first two Stogs (Krsteniški and Jezerski), then descent to Jezerski pass, here we went around (not over the pillar), to Mišeljski pass and then also to Prevalski Stog. From here further towards Planina Jezerce and then ascent to Lazoviško saddle and final ascent to Ogradi.
