From Vršič via Hanzova to Mala Mojstrovka, then along the ridge path to Šite. Follows descent from the top into a steep traverse full of rocks and scree; at the end, again twice stem into the wall and down to the scree slope. Across the scree and between big rocks to the marked path towards Jalovec. At the top, nothing special: some people, five-minute break, and back towards Tamar. During the descent, some fixes on the cables are visible, but the marks are still faded. In Tamar, rest with a radler, then through Grlo back to Vršič and home. Very nice tour, but surely won't repeat for some years.

This year PD Lisca celebrates 110 years of operation and for this occasion they opened a climbing route to Lisca, which nicely spices up the approach to the summit. Equipped with steel cable for self-belaying and lots of steps and pegs. The route has five pitches with the hardest-last one, which is short but overhanging.
I recommend it to anyone hurrying in this valley who likes something a bit different.

The moon was giving just enough light to the pasture, so I could go without a headlamp. I continued the trail to the top of the scree slope, where I left my skis and hiked up Pipanova to the summit. The ridge plateau was nicely wind-scoured into the shape of a steep roof, where I spent the most time for a safe crossing. There were some footprints of predecessors but they turned back on this section before the top. The descent was fantastic, when I put on my skis at the bottom and cruised all the way to the main road. In between, you have to take off your skis three times if you're not used to skiing on asphalt

Winter is very stingy with snow even above 3000m.
Start at Passo Pordoi, carry skis to the top, ski down the left side, then back to the top. Descent down the left gully and then to the right to the marked path, where I carry skis again to the hut, there on scree I search for snow patches all the way to the starting point.
Nice sunny day with fog in the valley and very very low temperatures below the summit.

Start from Planica just before dawn. First snow patches start on scree, trodden only past bivouac to Kotovo sedlo. My route continued through Ozebnik, which has changed a lot. Here powder snow all the way to the top. After a stop at the summit, back to the valley over Kotovo sedlo. First two hundred meters of height under snow nicely hide ice on rocks, which can ease a fast descent to the valley with a one-way ticket. Also today no one, just whistle of wind and sun rays.

Until morning strong wind nicely chased clouds, afternoon it weakened. Road closed, snow starts around 1500, conditions mixed. Snow with icy crust, drifts and windblown to rock. Ascent and return to Italian crossing then straight up and down the winter way. For skis currently unfavorable conditions.

This time a bit different. Via Hanzova to little Mojstrovka along the ridge to Šite, then climbing into the notch and back under Mojstrovke to Vršič. A real fairy tale of autumn nature.

First day to the hut and afternoon to the summit. Second day to the east and to the valley. Path without special features, only crampons mandatory.

Up via Marmolada ferrata, down the normal route. Trail nothing special, crampons needed, maybe ice axe but also fine with poles.

Starting point Passo Pordoi up ferrata Cesare Piazzetta past Pordoi hut back via scree. First 20 min really requires arm strength, as you literally pull yourself up on the cables and it's not easy.

Dry, on weekends parking fills up quickly, standing before barrier or even at the turnoff.

Findenegg Glacier at night has quite its own charm. There was snow only for a couple of steps left; the rest was bare. After sunrise still via Levi to Špik tough ledges and down to the valley before the heat.

Nice Youth Day was today. From the top, the first 300 m of 30 cm dry snow, then to the first turns of the Italian route pure ice. From there onwards, nice hard surface that covered rocks just with a few cm so no rattling

On Saturday, the exercise repeated itself, only that you already get to the last tunnel by bike.

From Mlinč it really drags to the top and back in spring time. But ski run from top was excellent.
