Ekola, Ruth is looking for fellow runners on mountain trails. I'm sure she'll succeed. More here

Hello

I'm interested if from Cerkno ski resort you can do some mountain tour,..

I've never been to the ski resort, so I'm asking if it's possible to continue the path further somewhere, like for example on Krvavec or you get with the chairlift only up to the ski resort and end. Don't nail me to the cross now that I know nothing,,,,,

I ask anyway, because they have this Sunday free rides with the chairlift and at the top event of radio Odmev, but I wouldn't like to just sit and listen because the event starts at 13. I'd like to use the morning also for some hike

thanks for answersnasmeh

Velesa, horrible!!
I go to Vremščica many times and each time more disappointed.
When I was there end of October, fine Italians were crashing through bushes and literally knocking down every mushroom under their feet.
They didn't even clean them, just pulled and hop into baskets, bags, backpacks.
Their dogs were howling, barking, growling over each othermrk pogled.
There were some Slovenian dogs too, but on leash!!
At the top of Vremščica they were passing sticks, their kids had some spears and threw them literally everywhere!!
Our group already warned the first mushroom group, then nicely told them to leash the dogs, and at the top I lost it. Literally!!
They behave really like pigs.
Don't even talk about how those fine ladies were breaking branches, tearing bushes, pulling something that was probably some herb?!
On the way back I looked more at the other hills and ridges.
Maybe more than ten camping vans. They drove straight through bushes, pastures,... to their spot.
And now I wonder; who harms nature more
violent Italians
or
wind turbines.
Maybe all those environmentalists should go up there some Sunday.

About driving cars up there, honking, no thanks!

Hm, delicious mountain cheeses wink.
If there's a chance, I buy it.

Price of fresh cheese loaf at Konjščica has been 5€ for some years, but the loaf is smaller every year angry

I don't know if this is accurate.
As far as I know, they diligently collect herbs in the mountains and also bring some things from the home garden in the valley.

Herbs are quickly gathered, especially if you know where and how to pick them. It's also more cost-effective for them.
In a hut for example they brew up to 20 liters of tea, do you know how many filters that is?
And if you think some huts have really big tea urns....

They collect everything from spruce tips, juniper tips, juniper berries, wild strawberries, wild cherries, elderflowers and elderberries. They also add bilberry leaves and dried bilberries.
Yellow rattle, wild thyme definitely not missing, lots of aroma from wild strawberry and raspberry leaves. Sometimes birch leaves too.
And of course nettles.

Probably I missed something, hope some hut keeper will show up and write more.
Ah, and recently I noticed they were collecting lichens too.
In autumn they collect rose hips too.

I think we've written about this a year ago and two years ago too,...
We usually don't take our dog because he has quite a few aches and would suffer more than enjoy.

But it really bothers me when loose dogs run wild on trails, pastures, mule tracks,... And then we step in poop, hide sandwiches,....

If we look at northern neighbors, almost at every former border crossing there's a warning that dogs must be leashed. Everyone follows it.
Here of course free as Prešeren. And that's not right.
I have nothing against furry and barking friends, quite the opposite - but there must be order.
A month ago on Golica. Dogs walking free, barking at each other, owners whistling all over, and a wonderful cocker spaniel snatches my sandwich which I left next to me on the bench. I just untied my shoelace and it was gone.
Dog owner - nothing.

Not long ago at Zelenica. Dog jumping everywhere. Among people, on the meadow (trail is nicely marked), dog owner all over too. Why do the markers mark, I wonder, when so-called hikers really don't need marks.

Couple days ago on Slivnica.
Frantic dogs, owner took three up, they charged at horses.
Horses went wild and hikers literally ran.

Week ago at Slemenova špica.
Same story.....

So don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of furry and other animals, but we need to ensure safety for the animals themselves and other mountain visitors so that ALL walk safely.

Bulls up or down,...
such or different ones....
best to avoid both.

Regarding us city hikers, maybe this: before almost every mountain dairy there's a sign for cottage cheese or cheese.
And how to avoid it, if the sign already tempts us to approachnasmeh.
And if the herdsman has some "snake saliva" then we even more gladly take some.

Rekar, please write on which mountain pasture you graze your livestock, so we avoid it from afar.

And to all I wish a nice and safe step on our mountainsnasmeh

It was fun reading this, thanks for the link.
Horses, or maybe even donkeys, I saw a lot of them in the mountains during the war, 20 years ago.
And not long ago also somewhere on the path to the Triglav Lakes.

To Krim.
Leave the car at the turnoff to Krim (where macadam starts).
You can eat in the hut or drive to Rakitna after.

To Vremščica and eat in Senožeče.

To Kokoš and Kras is full of good taverns.

To Slavnik....

Oh, where did you turn to find wide beards??
If you make fun of our bearded guys, those from Slivnica will tease you a bit with broomjezikjezik.

Well, nice that you're coming to our neck of the woods.

Maybe the viewpoint tower on Pohorje.
There aren't many with nicely rounded stairs.
katjuša222. 02. 2011 06:38:15
Is that at the Zapotoš Waterfalls?
katjuša217. 02. 2011 18:52:53
