Hello,
Since we became new parents in November we have to adjust our mountain trips to our son. I'm interested which mountains would be suitable, meaning the path isn't too exposed.... We're thinking of Storžič, Raduha and such ""easy"" mountains. We're fairly experienced hikers, building fitness on surrounding hills. But before we mostly chose harder mountains, just so there were chains velik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmeh

Best regards

Which do you think is the most demanding mountain in Slovenia for mountaineering (maybe Jalovec?) and why?

Given that it's a non-STP shelter that's locked and the key is obtained from the caretaker in Martuljek, I expected it to be built-in somewhere outside.
If we already have some mileage, it doesn't mean we've done all summits in Slovenia.
I think the forum is meant for such discussions (if you don't know... ask), so to me this question doesn't seem stupid. No need to attack everyone who asks for any, even the most banal information (such things that are everyday to you, Igor).
Thanks anyway for the info on where the stamp is located.

@heinz Stamp is a side issue.. but asking where it is probably no sin???
trinity16. 06. 2010 19:10:45
@heinz Well, now we're slowly getting him used to the altitude and the kid really enjoys it. Don't think we didn't consult a pediatrician... he says no issues. We won't race to Triglav in one day but take a two- or even three-day trip end of July or August.
We're no amateurs, we have plenty of mileage, ascents, even winter ones in our mountains... (far from Czechs and Slovaks velik nasmeh)

@Viharnik probably all mountaineer kids were on Triglav very quickly.... velik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmeh

Igor, I also think safety, path, summit and of course descent come first. The stamp is just a need for me because of the traverse, but I have a photo that apparently suffices too.

For us in the mountains the experience of the path, the feeling when you reach the summit/goal/descent is first..... Stamps matter the least to us. This year we're more like old grannies because we have a 7-month-old mountaineer with us (so we definitely don't risk anything). We're also taking mule paths more...but they are also very, very nice. The only wish is...maybe we can get to Triglav with him.....velik nasmeh

Of course I know cases that have full traverse....but they were only at two three points of the traverse and Triglav....hehehe

merkur I'd gladly give you the pics...but we took very few photos because it was very foggy. To Špička there's really no problem, you have to cross a couple of snowfields..... We went up from Zadnje Trente.....
We didn't even see Jalovec....damn!
trinity15. 06. 2010 09:29:32
How about in Tamar?
Is the stamp from the shelter in Tamar? zmedenzmeden
trinity14. 06. 2010 20:53:33
Today we went to the shelter below Špiček, the path is almost snow-free. Need to cross a couple snow patches, but nothing bad. For Jalovec crampons and ice axe necessary!

Does anyone know where the stamp is???
trinity16. 05. 2010 21:24:51
Gorazd I agree!!!

@ Miri no, I don't even care if everything is "in", but child's comfort is important..... This backpack that Julija has is really super, nicely padded...

Thanks!!velik nasmeh Your little beauty is already a real mountaineer. Ours is 6 months old and really enjoys the backpack (not exactly that super one) it's mid-price range! Recently found a really super helmet. So waiting for weather and off to nicer ones!

Yeah interesting that dad is now more often in photos hehehe....
That's exactly why I asked a bit, cuz we've never hiked such ""real easy"" ones....
But this year they'll be totally cool, mountains are beautiful everywhere anyway. Also tempted by 3-day tour to Triglav, but we'll see about snow, weather....
Thanks!!
