Schwarze Wand is 3016 meter high peak in the National Park Stelvio. The peak is located 5 km south-southeast from the center of Tarnell - Tarnello and 5 km west from the center of Thal. The nearest mountain hut is Lyfialm - Malga Lifi, located 7km south. A little further is bivouac bench. 5 km west-southwest from the summit there is glacier Ofenwandferner/Vedretta del Forno, 8 km southwest from the summit there is also glacier Rosimferner - Vedretta di Rosim. The peak is located east of the valley Laaser Tal - Valle di Laasa.
