Schönberg is 2275 meter high peak and is part of the Zillertal Alps. The peak is located in country Italy 1.0 km southeast of peak Schafbretter Spitz. The nearest mountain hut is Schwarzensteinhütte - Rifugio al Sasso Nero, located 5km north. A bit closer is Alpenverein Ahrntal, which is located 4km to the southeast. 4 km north-northwest from the summit there is glacier Schwarzenbachkees - Vedretta di Rio Nero, 5 km northwest from the summit there is also glacier Hornkees. Southeast of the summit is the valley Tauferer Tal.
