Batognica

Description of peak:
Batognica is a 2164 m high mountain, which was affected by the Mine War during World War I. Remnants of the mine war between the Italians and the Austro-Hungarian soldiers can still be seen on every step of the mountain's summit. The crater of the explosion, which set off 4100 kg of nitroglycerine gelatine, is still visible from the surrounding peaks.
From Batognica, you can see Krn, Kanin, Vrh nad peski and a large part of the highest peaks of the Julian and Kamnik-Savinja Alps.
