Access to the starting point:
a) Drive to Nova Gorica, then continue to Tolmin and Kobarid. Follow the main road towards Tolmin only as far as Solkan, where at the semaphoreised junction turn right towards Sveta Gora and Grgar. The ascending road continues past the quarry Solkan, then turns sharp right at a slightly higher altitude and leads to the Skalnica Inn, after which continue slightly left in the direction of Sveta Gora. Continue along the narrow asphalt road, which you follow to a marked parking area some 10 metres below the top of Sveta Gora.
b) From Tolmin or Most na Soči follow the main road towards Nova Gorica, then just before Nova Gorica, more precisely at the semaphore-controlled junction in Solkan, turn left in the direction of Sveta Gora and Grgar. The ascending road leads us past the quarry Solkan, then a little higher up it turns sharp right and leads us to the Skalnica Inn, after which we continue slightly left in the direction of Svete Gora. Continue along the narrow asphalt road, which you follow to a marked parking area some 10 metres below the top of Svete Gora.
c) From Goriško Brdy, take the road to Solkan, where at the first crossroads after the new Solkan bridge, continue straight ahead in the direction of Svatá Gora. The ascending road continues past the Solkan quarry, then turns sharp right at a slightly higher elevation and leads to the Skalnica Inn, after which we continue slightly left in the direction of Svatá Gora. Continue along the narrow asphalt road, which you follow to a marked parking area some 10 metres below the top of Svete Gora.
Path description:
From the parking lot, walk to the nearby stairs, which take you up to the road leading to the top of Svete Gora, with beautiful views. When you reach the road, follow it to the left, which leads you past the nearby inn and church. Behind the church, the road starts to descend gently and leads to the nearby cemetery, where it ends. Continue along the wide ridge path towards the nearby Frančiškov hrib, which is reached after a few minutes of moderate descent.
