Access to the starting point:
a) From the Ljubljana - Obrežje motorway, take exit Trebnje West and then continue towards Mirna. In Mirna, turn left towards Gabrovka, and follow the road to the settlement Selo pri Mirni, or a little further on to the first small crossroads, where a worse macadam road turns off to the right. At this junction there are signs for the Speča beautitica hiking trail and a sign marking the beginning of the municipality of Litija. Park in a suitable place at the junction.
b) From the Obrežje - Ljubljana motorway, take exit Trebnje east and then continue towards Mirna. In Mirna, turn left towards Gabrovka, and follow the road to the settlement Selo pri Mirni, or a little further to the first small crossroads, where a worse macadam road turns off to the right. c) From Radeče or Sevnica, take the road to Mirna, and from there continue to the right in the direction of Gabrovka, and follow the road to the settlement Selo pri Mirni, or a little further to the first small crossroads, where a worse macadam road branches off to the right. At this junction there are signs for the Speča beautitica hiking trail and a sign marking the beginning of the municipality of Litija. Park in a suitable place at the junction.
d) First drive to Litija and from there continue to Šmartno pri Litiji and on to Gabrovka and Mirna. At the sign for the end of the municipality Litija, a worse macadam road branches off to the left, along which there is also a sign for the Speča beautička hiking trail. Park in a suitable place at the crossroads.
Path description:
From the starting point, follow the macadam road, along which you will see signs for the Speča beautitica hiking trail. The path first passes between a chain-link fence on the left and a meadow, then bushes on the right. When the dirt road or cart track splits, continue right into the forest, where you will also see markings along the way. The gradually improving dirt road soon turns to asphalt and curves slightly to the left. A few minutes' walk through the village and at a few points the scenic road leads to St Peter's Church.
