Ptujska Gora (roundabout) - Ptujska Gora

Access to the starting point:
a) From the motorway Ljubljana - Maribor take the exit Slovenska Bistrica - north, then follow the signs for Ptuj. Leave the road to Ptuj at the signs for Cirkovce, and from Cirkovce follow the road to Lovrenec na Dravskem polju. At Župečja vas, which is before Lovrenc na Dravskem polju, turn right in the direction of Ptujska Gora. At Ptujska Gora turn left at the roundabout and then left again into the parking lot for church visitors. The route described starts at this parking lot, if you intend to visit the church park here, if not you will need to find a parking lot nearby. The larger parking lot is under the church itself.
b) Leave the Podravje motorway at exit Hajdina, then follow the signs for Slovenska Bistrica and Hajdina. Leave the road to Slovenska Bistrica quickly and turn left towards Kidričevo. Continue through Kidričevo, and when you reach Apache, turn right at the roundabout towards Lovrenc na Dravskem polju, then follow the signs for Ptujsko Gora. At Ptujska Gora turn left at the roundabout and then left again into the parking lot for church visitors. The route described starts at this parking lot, if you intend to visit the church park here, if not you will need to find a parking lot nearby. The larger parking lot is under the church itself.
c) Take Ptuj, then follow the signs for Lovrenc na Dravskem polju and Ptujska Gora. At Ptujska Gora turn left at the roundabout and then left again into the parking lot for church visitors. The route described starts at the parking lot, if you plan to visit the church, park here, if not, find a parking lot nearby. The larger parking lot is under the church itself.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the road with the signs for the pilgrimage route, and after a few steps go left at a small crossroads, again in the direction of the pilgrimage route. The path continues along the road, which climbs gently, and at the next crossroads you go left again (even if you continue straight ahead, you will reach the church on Ptujska Gora). There is a slight left turn and you reach a large parking lot, from where you take the path towards the basilica.
There is a steeper walk along a cobbled path, with stations for the mysteries of the four rosaries. Follow this path, which offers ever more beautiful views as far as Pohorje, to the church, which is reached at the last part by a flight of steps.
