Access to the starting point:
From Dobrova, Horjul, Gorenje vas or Črni Vrho, drive to Polhov Gradec, more precisely to the crossroads by the main bus station in Polhov Gradec. Park in a suitable place near the station, preferably in the parking lot by the bridge over the river Božná.
Path description:
From the starting point, continue along the main road in the direction of Ljubljana for a short time, and then after the Gostilna pri Pratkarju, notice the mountain direction signs for Grmada, Belica, Katarina and Tošč, which direct us to the left, to the path that continues along the brick fence. After a short climb, step onto the asphalt road and follow it to the right, but walk along it for only a few steps, as the signs then lead you left, onto what is initially still quite a wide path. The path, from which we have a nice view of Polhov Gradec and St. Lovrenec, then passes into the forest and for some time climbs mostly crosswise. Higher up, we cross the stream of the Frjetův gráven, and then climb a few steps to a meadow where the path leads us along a wooden fence. The path across the meadow quickly leads us to a macadam road, which we follow to the right, and we walk along it for a minute or two to reach the Mountain Home on Ravnek.
We continue along the road for a short distance, and then the marked path crosses it a few times. Higher up, we return to the road, which leads us to the hamlet of Ravnek, where we reach a small crossroads behind the last house, where we continue slightly left (slightly right Grmada - the usual route with Ravnek) along the lower road, which is not marked, but orientationally uncomplicated. It takes about 15 minutes to cross the road, which is slightly downhill, and then reaches the asphalt road leading from the hamlet of Božna. Follow this road to Setnica, a hamlet with a few houses, where there is also an agritourism farm at Mehaček. Before the agritourism, turn right onto the marked path, which leads past a few more houses, and then, when the houses end, we arrive at a crossroads, where the path continues to the right towards Grmada, and we continue slightly to the left in the direction of the Church of St Ursula. We continue along the wide, winding and scenic cart track, which takes us within a few minutes to reach the church, which is situated in the middle of a pleasant meadow.
After the church, follow the winding path, which continues along a small valley and passes through a pleasant meadow. On the other side of the spacious meadow, the path gradually ascends a slope and starts to climb steeply. After about 15 minutes of scenic ascent, the ridge Mala Grmada is reached, where the marked path is rejoined. Continue left, following the path that takes you immediately after the crossroads to the top of Mala Grmada, from where there is a short descent. The path ahead leads us along and along a scenic and quite picturesque ridge, and then the path turns slightly to the right and takes us to the steeper slopes below the Grmada peak. Cross the steep slope and ascend crosswise to the right, then at two successive crossroads continue to the left and in a few further steps reach the top of Grmada.
