Access to the starting point:
From Horjul or Dobrova, drive to Polhov Gradec, then continue to Črnji vrh. Just at the point where you see the sign for the end of Polhov Gradec, turn right in the direction of Macka graben and the Church of St Ursula. The road leads quickly to the next crossroads, at which point we park in a slightly larger parking lot.
Path description:
From the parking lot in Mačkovo graben, continue straight ahead in the direction of the Gonte farm, Tošča and Grmada (sharp right Setnica, St Ursula and Grmada) along the initially still asphalted road, which climbs moderately along Mačkovo graben, a stream on which you can see a number of small dams over which water is released. The road continues to lead us past a few houses, then narrows and loses its asphalt coating. The road then turns left, and we continue straight on, following the cart track, which starts to climb a little more steeply alongside the aforementioned stream. Higher up, cart track turns sharp left and leads us just a little higher out of the forest onto a scenic grassy hayfield, which we then climb in a few minutes to the Jelovčnik farm (686 m), where we re-enter the forest.
The path then descends gently and gradually turns slightly to the right. After a few minutes of easy walking, the path climbs steeply again, and after a few minutes of further walking, it leads out of the forest, where we see the Gonte Tourist Farm in front of us.
From the Gonte farm, turn right in the direction Grmada (left Tošč) and continue your ascent over the grassy slope. Higher up, the path is laid, and then after a short descent leads us into the lane of a forest, where it begins to climb again. The path, which continues along and along the north ridge of Grmada, climbs even steeper and leads us to a short section protected by a cableway (easy). Higher up, the path leads us out of the forest, and we quickly ascend to the main ridge, where we are joined first by the path from Topol on our left and, just a few metres further on, by the path from Belica and Mala Grmada. In both cases, we continue to the right and after a few steps of further walking we reach the summit.
We can extend the trip to the following destinations: Tošč (1 h)

Luškan izlet, čeprav mi je to izhodišče ljubše za drugo pot, ki gre sicer neoznačena po grebenu do kmetije Pri Mihačku (mislim, da se tako napiše), nato pa čez vršnji greben do vrha.

Hvala, Pero19! No v glavnem, pot se začne na istem parkirišču, samo ne naravnost po cesti ampak zaviješ desno na strmejšo asfaltirano cesto in nato po prvem večjem levem ovinku zaviješ strmo levo nad cesto...potem pa samo po grebenu pa akcija

Glede na današnjo vročino se splača še ena varianta - danes preverjeno: tam kjer makedamska cesta na koncu Mačkovega grabna zavije ostro levo, se lahko nadaljuje proti potoku in po grapi potoka navzgor. Senca, hlad potoka, zmerni vzpon. Edino čevlje je potrebno imeti malo boljše, ker se hodi po skalah potoka (nizki gojzarji so čisto ok). S tem se izognemo vzponu po soncu, ki gre mimo prvih kmetij in se spet priključimo na pot, ko se le-ta spet začne v gozdu strmeje vzpenjati in nas pripelje na križišče pri Gontah, kjer se lahko odločamo levo na Tošč in desno na Grmado ...
Hladna, senčna ... skoraj kičasto!

Pozdravljeni! Tudi meni je v vcerajsnji vrocini uspel 'podvig' na Polhograjsko grmado. Imam sicer strah pred visino  , ampak z visokimi gojzarji je slo. (No bila ze 3x na Triglavu.) In tudi povratek kljub dokaj cistemu razgledu in krusljivemu, zlizanemu terenu ni bil stresen. Sem pa studirala, da po dezju oz. po dolgotrajnem dezju zna bit' ta tura "po grebenu" precej nevarna (zdrsi, padci)  .
