Access to the starting point:
Via Border crossing Rateče or Predel to Trbiž / Tarvisio and then follow the motorway towards Udine to the Tolmezzo exit. From Tolmezzo, follow the road towards Ampezzo and the Passo della Mauria mountain pass. The road then descends and leads to a crossroads where you turn right towards Auronzo. Follow the signs for the Tre Croci Pass.
Path description:
From the Tre Croci pass, turn right onto the narrow, initially asphalted road (route 203). There are also signs at the beginning of the road directing you to the road. The tarmac ends quickly and you continue past the barrier and start climbing up the dirt road, which is closed to traffic. The road through the forest then soon leads to a crossroads where a path branches off to the right towards the Forcella del Cristallo notch, and we continue along the forest road. When we emerge from the forest, we are joined on the left by a path from the parking lot at the Monte Cristallo ski resort. We continue up the road for a while and then signs point us to the right onto a footpath.
The path starts to climb a little steeper and the views of the surrounding peaks start to get better and better. The path continues to ascend, crossing the slopes to the north-west and passing mostly along the rare dwarf pines. Higher up, the path leads to the Sonforcia saddle, where it rejoins the dirt road.
At the saddle, continue to the right along the road, which is then followed all the way to the Son Forca hut.
From the hut, continue towards the cable car. Signposts at the bottom of the cable car station will then direct you to the ski slope below the cable car. The trail continues along the ski slope below the cable car and starts to climb quite steeply. In the last part, the path climbs up a steep scree slope, which leads to the top station of the cable car. From here, it's just a walk to the hut.
From the hut, continue along the protected Via ferrata Marino Bianchi. The path follows the ridge in a south-easterly direction. The initial part of the trail starts with a gentle climb along the ridge, followed by a short descent into the stubble. Then the path starts to climb a little steeper along the barbed wire. There is a climb up a ladder and then the path soon leads to a crossroads.
Continue left along the more difficult path along the ridge, and descend the slightly easier path on the right. From the crossroads, the path first climbs a vertical ladder and then climbs very steeply along the ridge a few more times by the steel cable. In the last part, the path becomes a little less steep and leads us along a scenic ridge to the top. Descend along the path that runs along the south side of the ridge.

Koliko je od zg.postaje žičnice na vrh. Hvala. Lp

Napravio sam tu feratu prije 2 godine. Najjednostavnije je popeti se do rif. Lorenzi sa 2 žičare (sedežnica i neka prastara gondola, karta dođe cca 15 EUR) i onda od rif. Lorenzi u feratu koja traje cca 1-1,5 sat do vrha: Ferata nije nešto posebno zahtjevna, odlično je osigurana, jedini je problem što se treba po istom vratiti. Mi smo taj dan napravili i fer. Ivano Dibona (od koče Lorenzi na drugu stranu), što je dodatnih cca 6-8 sati hoda. Inače, fer. Marino Bianchi je lijepa i ne pretjerano zahtjevna ferata, čak i za manje iskusne i ne jako dobro pripremljene planinare. Svakako savjetujem i preporučam.

Fer. Dibona ti ima više varijanti, mi smo bili napravili neku varijantu da se vratimo na ishodište (Rio Gere) a to nas je koštalo cca 8 sati hoda. Inače original varijanta završava kod rif. Ospitale (to ti je na cesti Cortina - Dobiacco, cca 10 km od Cortine, pa ti treba prevoz za natrag). Ima još jedna kratka varijanta a ta je da se nakon mosta i stepenica odmah nakon gornje stanice žičare, a nakon prehodanog vršnog grebena, spustiš po jednoj forcelli (grapi) koja je skoro paralelna sa grapom ispod žičare. Moraš dobro paziti, ima putokaz ali staza je nemarkirana, ali tu se uštedi najviše, jer sama fer. Dibona je prilično neinteresantna, u biti obična hodačina. Najbolje ti je negdnje nabaviti kartu Tabacco no. 03, pa će ti sam pogled na kartu biti dovoljan. Uglavnom, nemoj napraviti kombinaciju kao mi, isti dan fer. Marino Bianchi i Ivano Dibona, jer ti je to cca 12 sati hoda, a mi smo išli još i prvom žičarom gore.

Gondola do sedla Staunies ne obratuje več, tako da enostaven dostop do ferate ni več možen. Potrebno se je sprehoditi po melišču (2h gor, 30min dol).

Ha, ko bodo taljani imeli muzej kot mi, bi ta žičnica zagotovo sodila tja. Kaj pa štirisedežnica Rio gere-Som forca ta pa še vozi? Sicer pa se najverjetneje splača kar peš s sedla.

Ali zgornja informacija, da žičnica do sedla Staunies ne obratuje drži, ali začasno ni obratovala?

Kar sem jaz izvedel je koča Lorenzi na sedlu Staunies zaprta zaradi zaprtja tiste predpotopne žičnice na jajčka. Dela pa sedežnica do koče Som forca in to je vse; še vedno je od tam do sedla kar lep kos poti. V taki situaciji je glede na to da dostopamo do izhodišča preko prelaza Tre croci najbolje peš kar od tam.

Oskrbnica na koči Son Forca je lani povedala, da nameravajo žičnico na sedlo obnoviti. Ali mogoče kdo ve, če se je na tem kaj delalo? LP

Zasledil sem, da je bila marca predstavitev idejnega projekta vrednosti cca 9miljonov eur. Predvidena je ena sama kabina kapacitete 80 oseb. Nič ne piše, če se je kaj v resnici dogajalo, predvidevam pa da ti časi vsekakor niso pripomogli k hitrejši izvedbi

Če ima kdo namen it v kratkem - pot za sestop je še deloma pod snegom. Sicer vsega skupaj dobrih 10m, a naklon je 45+, spodaj pa prepad. Tako da brez zimske opreme (pa še to z veliko pazljivosti zaradi spolzkega južnega snega) je sestop po poti vzpona.
