Access to the starting point:
a) Leave the Rijeka / Rijeka - Zagreb motorway at the Delnice exit and follow the old road to Rijeka. Before the junction for Lokve, turn left in the direction of Mrkopalj, and in the middle of the village turn right in the direction of Tuk and Matič poljana. Follow the signs for Matič poljano. After Tuk, the road becomes macadam, and we follow it for about 16 km, where we follow the mountain signs for Bijele i Samarske stijene, and in the vicinity we also see signs for Bijele stijene pointing to the right. 1 km further on, we park in a forest parking lot next to a small shelter.
b) Drive from Ogulin towards Novi Vinodolski and after about 1 km turn right after Jasenak in the direction of Bijele i Samarske stijene. After 5 km on a dirt road, turn left towards Bijela stijene, and after 1 km park in a forest parking lot next to a small shelter.

Path description:
From the parking lot, follow the signs and walk along the well-trodden and well-marked mountain path. After a few minutes, the path climbs steeply and leads through a pleasant beech forest, where the path is quite slippery in the wet.
After about half an hour's walk, we reach a crossroads where the path to Veliko javornica branches off to the right, and we go left in the direction of Bijele stijen and Miroslav Hirtz's shelter. Here the path gradually becomes more level, and after about 10 to 15 minutes of further walking we reach the shelter, which is located at 1270 metres.
Continue to follow the signs and, just a few minutes further on, you will reach Dragutin Hirtz's Planisnka hut.
The way ahead becomes more difficult and leads us through the interesting world of Bijeli stijen, where we are helped by a few wedges and ropes. This route takes us to the top in about 15 minutes.
