Mariborska koča - Sveti Bolfenk (Mariborsko Pohorje)

Access to the starting point:
Leave the Štajerska motorway at the exit for Slivnica and Rogoza, then follow the signs for Pohorje and Areh. The way ahead takes you through Spodnje and Zgornje Hoče, Slivnica Pohorje, and after the settlements follow the signs for Areh, and higher up the signs for Maribor cottage. Park in the parking lot a little in front of the Maribor cottage.

Path description:
From the parking lot in front of Mariborska koča, follow the route of arrival to the starting point back to the nearby marked crossroads, from which take the side road in the direction of St. Bolfenk and the Bellevue Hotel. Continue on the side road which leads through a hamlet of holiday cottages, and in the hamlet continue on the lower road which continues straight ahead (slightly left Maribor lookout). The settlement of holiday homes soon ends, and we continue through the forest and quickly approach the tarmac road. The path ahead diverges slightly to the left from the road, and we continue crossing. There is a slight climb and we reach a marked path that leads through the Maribor Lookout.
Here we go slightly right towards the upper funicular station and the Bellevue Hotel and continue descending gently. The path continues past a small statue of the Virgin Mary, and then once again we approach the asphalt road. Continue slightly to the left of the road and, as you approach the parking lot at the top funicular station, take a sharp left towards the nearby Church of St. Bolfenka, which is reached after a minute's further walking.
