Access to the starting point:
We drive to Pontebba (Itali), e. g. from Kranjska Gora and Trbiz / Tarvisio.
In Pontebba, look for the turn-off for Lonice / Passo del Cason di Lanza. The turn-off or junction is just after the turn-off for Mokrine (Nassfeld or Passo Pramolo), which you pass in a westerly direction (if you are coming from Slovenia).
The road is 16 km long, asphalted, narrow and sometimes very steep. The drive to your destination on this road takes about 25 minutes.
Path description:
From the parking lot, walk a few dozen metres along a dirt road towards a yellow building, past which you turn left into the woods (past a large iron cross, with a very difficult path nearby). Through a sparse, mostly larch forest, you come to the turn-off for Zuc della Guardia, which crosses a fountain. We do not cross the fountain and continue towards the saddle of Forca di Lanza, 1831 m. To the left the path continues to Monte Pizzul (1985 m), and we continue to the right. The path climbs a little steeper at first on grassy slopes, but soon becomes more gentle. Here the distance to the summit shortens rapidly. Before the summit, the path becomes a little steeper. Here we join a very difficult path. At the top there is a large metal cross and a register.
