Access to the starting point:
Take the Gederovci (to get here from Radenci or Murska Sobota) and continue driving towards Kuzma. Continue through Cankova, and when you reach Krašči, turn right in the direction of Lake Ledava. The road continues along the embankment to the south of the lake, and when you leave the embankment you will reach a parking area by the information boards, where you park.
Path description:
At the parking lot, the signs for the Bernardino Trail direct you towards the lake, and when you reach it after a few 10 steps, continue to the right. The path ahead leads you directly along the lake, where you can enjoy beautiful views of the lake and the surrounding area. The path with a few information boards leads us a little further to a macadam road, which continues along the lake. A little further on, the road turns right and moves away from the lake, where it reaches a junction with an asphalt road behind a football field.
Continue straight ahead on a side road towards the Bernardine Trail (a shorter path around the lake on the left) and start climbing up a narrower tarmac road. Higher up, we get a nice view of Ledava Lake, and a little further on, go left out of the junction. Continue straight ahead for a short distance, passing a few more houses, and then go left. There is just a little climb and then a steeper descent. Keep to the right as you go downhill, and when you come to a crossroads by a cross, go left. After the crossroads, the road flattens out, and at the next crossroads you join a shorter path that goes around the lake. Go right here and first cross the Lukaj stream, after which go left, and then cross the Ledava river. After a few minutes of easy walking, you will pass a few houses and reach the main road Cankova - Rogašovci, which you follow to the left and then walk to the nearby fire house in Ropoča.
At the firehouse, turn right onto a side road which starts to climb between fields, and higher up, at a few houses, turns left and climbs through lane of a forest. After leaving the forest, there is a short climb to reach the chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Ropoča.
After the chapel, go left and continue to the nearby cemetery, where you go straight on (left to reach the main road). Walk along this road for a short distance and then go left onto a side road with signs for the Bernarda Trail. There is a steeper descent where you pass the fire-house Krašči, and when you reach the main road go right and then left towards Ledava Lake.
The path continues along the embankment of Lake Ledava, and when the embankment ends we return to the parking lot where we started.
