Jablance - Skalica (Bohor) (via Koča na Bohorju and Veliki Javornik)

Access to the starting point:
From Krško, drive to Sevnica or vice versa. Shortly after Krško, the road to Brestanica branches off to the right (from Sevnica, just before Krško, turn left). Follow this road towards Senovo, where you will see the first signs for Bohor (turn left at Senovo). The road then leads us up along the stream, taking us higher to a less well-marked crossroads, where we continue slightly to the left (the road going straight on along the stream leads us to the huts on Bohor. Our left road then makes two sharp bends and soon leads us out of the forest where, after a further 100 m of driving, we park in the parking lot by the information board.

Path description:
From the parking lot, continue along the right-hand road towards Koča na Bohorju. After a few minutes of walking, signs direct you to the right on a wide footpath that climbs moderately through the forest. When you reach a higher point out of the forest, the path turns left and then crosses a grassy slope, where it is slightly less well marked. Follow this path, which climbs alongside fields, towards the houses in the village, which can be seen ahead. In the village, step out onto the road and walk along it for a few dozen steps to the chapel, which can be seen on the left-hand side of the road.
After the chapel, continue your ascent along the marked footpath which climbs parallel to the road. The trail, which is well marked further on, leads us through the forest and some small meadows on a moderate incline to an asphalted road, which we follow to the left. The road, which we walk along, then leads us in three minutes to the Cottage na Bohorju.
From the hut, continue along the road in the direction of Veliki Javornik and other destinations, and then arrive at Škofovo meadow, where there is a marked crossroads.
From the crossroads continue straight ahead (left Petrova skala, right Pilštanj) and continue along the road, from which the path to Koprivnik soon branches off to the right.
Continue straight ahead here, and at the nearby pass, by the Škofov Cross, the path leading over the top of Koprivnik joins from the right.
Here, from the marked crossroads, continue along the left-hand road (straight down Planina pri Sevnici), which ends after a few minutes at a turning point and we continue our ascent along cart track, which soon forks. Continue slightly right in the direction of Veliki Javornik (straight ahead Skalica - the path that bypasses the top of Javornik) and gradually start climbing steeper, following the markings at a few crossroads. Higher up, we leave the forest and in a few steps reach the highest point of Veliki Javornik.
From Veliki Javornik, continue straight ahead and follow the path south-westwards, walking along the edge of the forest. After a short, steep descent, the signs direct you to the left into the forest, through which you begin to descend steeply. Lower down, a slightly shorter path joins us from the left, bypassing the summit of Veliki Javornik, and we continue right, following cart track to reach a dirt road.
Continue slightly right towards Lisca and Skalica (left Grmada, Partisan Hospital and Koča na Bohorju over Travni laz) and continue along the road, which slowly climbs and after a few minutes leads to a crossroads, where you go right (the road to the left descends to the nearby settlements of Zalog, Mrzla mountain pasture. . . ) and in a few steps arrive at the pass between Mali and Veliki Javornik. Here we take a sharp left, onto a side road with signs for Lisca, and we continue along a slightly narrower road, which turns into cart track after the meadow, which we pass on the lower side. The way ahead takes us along cart track, which descends gently for the most part, and at crossroads we follow it in the direction of the waymarks. After a while, pass the cross and arrive at a marked crossroads, where you take a sharp right in the direction of Skalica and Planina pri Sevnici (to the left Lisca).
There is some more descent and we reach a small pass to the east of Skalica, where the path to Planina pri Sevnici continues to the right, and we continue straight on to Skalica, where we first cross a short steep slope and then climb an undistinguished ridge, after which we reach the top of Skalica in a few minutes, from which we get some views.
