Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču - Poštarski dom na Vršiču (on old road)

Access to the starting point:
From Kranjska Gora take the road leading over the Vršič pass to Bovec or vice versa. Between the 22nd and 23rd serpentine of the Vršiška cesta you will reach the parking lot under Erjavčevo kočo, where you park.

Path description:
From the parking lot at Erjavec's cottage, continue south towards the Postman's Home on Vršič. The path quickly turns from meadow into a sparse, mostly larch forest, where it first crosses slopes and then a larger torrential ravine. Beyond the ravine the path starts to climb, and soon an unmarked path branches off to the left downhill, leading towards Tonkina koča na Vršiču (the path joins the old road at a lower level). A short walk along the mountain path follows, and then we reach the old road, which we first cross on a marked shortcut, and then continue our ascent. As we continue, we increasingly get beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and walls. On one of the serpentines, the path continues straight on towards Prisojnik (the path through the Front Prisojnik Window), and then we reach the level in front of the Postman's House on Vršič in a few more serpentines. From here it is only a short walk and the path leads to the Postman's Home.
