Access to the starting point:
Take the Tržič, then follow the signs for Dovžanovo gorge, and before the end of Tržič turn right in the direction of Lom pod Storžičem, Grahovše and Doma pod Storžičem. After the settlements, the asphalt ends and we follow the dirt road towards Doma pod Storžičem. Higher up, the dirt road becomes unpaved in parts and we follow it to the parking area near the Mountain Home under Storžič.
Path description:
From the parking lot near Dom pod Storžičem, take the road to the left in the direction of Javorniško sedlo, Jezersko, Tič, Rekar and Grahovš. After a few steps, the road splits and we continue slightly right towards Javorniški preval and gradually begin a moderate climb.
Higher up, when the road turns into cart track, we leave it and continue to the right along the marked path, which starts to climb steeply, and by Javorniški preval it crosses cart track twice more, which is also a possible way to reach the Javorníšek Preval. After about 1 hour's walk, you will reach the above-mentioned pass, where there is a signpost and a registration box and where several paths cross.
Continue slightly right in the direction of Kališča and Jezersko (left mountain pasture Javornik, slightly left Močnikovo sedlo, right Storžič), initially crossing the slopes of Škarjeva peč, but quickly beginning to descend crosswise. After crossing the torrent, the path splits, and we take the right path (the left path descends towards Jezersko), which continues to cross the slopes. We gradually reach steeper slopes, which are dangerous for slipping, especially in wet conditions, due to the poorer trail. There are a few more passages over ravines, where extra caution is needed, and when you leave the forest the slope becomes less steep and turns into a gently sloping scree slope. After the scree, we gradually start to climb, and after crossing a short slightly exposed rocky part, the path becomes very steep for a short time and leads us between bushes and dwarf pines. When the steepness subsides, there is a few minutes of traverse to the left and we join the path from Jezersko.
Continue right and follow the torrential gully up the maintained path to Bašeljski preval, from where a fine view to the south opens up.
Continue left towards Kišče (Storžič on the right) and cross the slopes of Bašeljski vrh. After about 10 minutes of crossing or a slight descent, we reach a marked crossroads, from which we continue straight on (sharp left Bašelj peak, sharp right Mala and Velika Poljana), and the trail turns into a scenic ridge, after which we descend for a few more minutes to the Doma na Kališču (Home at Kišče).

Discussion about the trail Dom pod Storžičem - Dom na Kališču (via Javorniški preval)

25.7.2021 prehodila to pot. PZS jo klasificira kot lahko, je pa delno zahtevna vsekakor boljsa oznaka. Med javorniskim in baseljskim prevaloma je pot popolnoma neociscena, na vsakih nekaj 100 metrov so na poti padla drevesa, veliko grmicevja, itd. Da se priti skozi ampak normalna gibcnost je na case kar zazelena. Slabse gibcnim bi odsvetoval. Sem pa ze sporocil PZS, pravijo, da bodo uredili.

Ja, res je. Pot je od Javorniškega prevala naprej v zelo divjem stanju. Ne samo veliko padlega drevja in grmičevja, ampak tudi zahtevni prehodi čez grape in zaraščena stezica proti Bašeljskemu prevalu. Vsekakor zahtevna pot v trenutnih razmerah. Sicer se da, vendar bi rekel s kakšnim pol urnim dodatkom k časovnici.
Oskrbnik pri Domu pod Storžičem je tej poti v hecu rekel Oviratlon :-)
Če bo kakšna akcija, naj kdo prosim sporoči. Mogoče pa potrebujejo še dodatne roke in motorko. Hvala.
