Dolina Krma - Kredarica

Access to the starting point:
a) Leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Hrušica exit and follow the road towards Kranjska Gora. Just before the village of Dovje, the road branches off to the left and leads to Mojstrana (Vrata, Kot and Krma). Follow the road in the direction of the village of Radovna and the valleys of Krma and Kot. The relatively steep road then takes you past a TNP signboard, after which the road soon becomes a dirt road and leads you to a junction where the dirt road to the valley of Kot branches off to the right. Continue straight ahead on the road, which begins to descend. In the middle of the descent, the road to the Krma valley branches off to the right (straight ahead Radovna). A little further on, you come to the next crossroads, where you continue to the right in the direction of Krma. The macadam road then leads to Kovinarska hut, and we follow it further. Occasionally, a slightly worse road then leads us to the parking lot in front of the gate.
b) Take the Kranjska Gora, then continue driving in the direction of Jesenice. Leave the main road at Dovje and turn right towards Mojstrana and the valleys of Vrata, Kot and Krma, following the signs for Krma at the next junctions. The relatively steep road then leads us past a TNP signboard, after which the road soon lays down and leads us to a crossroads where a macadam road branches off to the right into the Kot valley. Continue straight ahead on the road, which begins to descend. In the middle of the descent, the road to the Krma valley branches off to the right (straight ahead Radovna). A little further on, you come to the next crossroads, where you continue to the right in the direction of Krma. The macadam road then leads to Kovinarska hut, and we follow it further. Occasionally, a slightly worse road then leads us to the parking area in front of the barrier.

Path description:
From the parking lot in Krma, continue along the marked path, which initially climbs up the valley only slightly. After a few minutes of walking on the gravel, the path turns slightly right and enters the forest. Through the forest, the ascent is gentle at first and then moderate to occasionally steeper. Higher up, the forest begins to thin out, and after a few steps downhill you reach the grassy plain of Vrtača.
Beyond the plain the path climbs once more, then after about 20 minutes of further walking leads to Malo polje, where it turns right and lays down again.
At Malo polje, the path to Bohinjska vratca and Vodnikov dom branches off to the left, and we continue straight on along the wider path, which gradually begins to climb towards mountain pasture Zgornja Krma.
At the above-mentioned mountain pasture we pass the shepherd's hut of Prgarca on the right, and a little further on we reach a marked crossroads.
From the crossroads go right in the direction of Kredarica and Staničev's home (left path over Kurica, Planika. . . ), and left at the next crossroads in the direction of Kredarica (straight Staničev's home). The way ahead begins to climb steeply, at first mainly through dwarf pines, but higher up over increasingly bare slopes. After a transitional slightly more gentle part, the path becomes steep again and continues to climb through Kalvarija, where we cross the marked path Konjsko sedlo - Staničev dom.
Higher up, the path from Vodnikov dom joins us from the left, and a little further on, the path from Planika. At both crossroads, we continue in the direction of Kredarica, and after about 5 hours of walking from the starting point, we arrive at the Triglav Home on Kredarica, enjoying the increasingly beautiful views.
In front of the chapel, we continue to the right in the direction of Dom Valentina Staniča and after 5 minutes of further walking we climb to the top of Kredarica, from where we have a beautiful view towards Triglav and the surrounding mountains.
