Access to the starting point:
Celje is easily accessible from several directions. Park at the train station near the bridge over the Savinja or in the immediate vicinity. Those arriving by train will also have an ideal starting point.
Path description:
From the railway station, head towards Laško and cross the bridge over the Savinja River. Immediately on the other side of the bridge, turn right onto the road that runs along the river and after about 100 metres turn left along the narrow road uphill. After a few minutes, on the left side of the road, you will see a larger signboard "City Forest" with a map and the marking "Žerdoner's Trail". (On the right side of the trail, in a clearing behind the trees, is the shrine of Hercules). Climb the steps and continue into the forest. Keep climbing, passing (not in the direction of) a sign pointing in the direction of the "monastery", then follow the signs for the "lookout tower". Out of the forest you will come to a clearing with a small platform, the so-called Lookout Tower, which offers a view of the city of Celje and the Old Castle of Celje.

https://youtu.be/FWyHE9R2C8c?si=l093f40CBQHdU1Fo Meni luštna ideja za hiter skok po službi na razgledno ploščad, s pogledom na zahod 🌄 in Celje, ki se ob lepem vremenu pokrije z oranžno odejo in leže k zasluženemu počitku 🥱🌙 Sama grem to pot malce drugače kot v zgornjem opisu. Mislim, da domačini s te strani hodimo večinoma tako kot vidite v videu in opišem spodaj. Parkirala sem v parku, pri Ledeni dvorani. Nato sem šla po stopnišču in po levi strani mimo kapucinskega samostana do prvih smernih tabel za razgledni stolp in cerkev Sv. Miklavža. Naprej pot preči travnik in gre v gozd. V številnih serpentinah, kjer nas usmerjajo table, sem se povzpela do 376 m visokega razglednega stolpa. Lp, Nina
