Bele vode / Rio Bianco - Rifugio Corsi (via Krniška škrbina)

Access to the starting point:
a) Via Border crossing Rateče, drive into Itali, then follow the main road to Trbiž / Tarvisio, where at the beginning of the town turn left towards Bovec. After Rabelj / Cave del Predil, the road quickly leads to a crossroads in front of Lake Rabelj / Lago di Predil, where you turn right. After a short drive through the Jezerska Valley / Val Rio del Bianco, you reach the point where the road crosses the White Stream / Rio Bianco, where you park in a small parking lot on the left. About 100 m further along the next stream there is a larger parking lot, where the trailhead for Jerebica is.

b) Cross Border crossing Predel into Itali and descend to Lake Rabelais / Lago di Predil, where after the lake turn left towards the Nevea Pass (in Žlebe) / Sella Nevea. After some more driving through the Lake Valley / Val Rio del Bianco, we reach the point where the road crosses the White Stream / Rio Bianco, where we park in a small parking lot on the left. About 100 m further along the next stream there is a larger parking lot, where the trailhead for Jerebica is.

Path description:
From the starting point, first cross the road carefully and then continue along the marked path towards the Brunner and Corsi huts and the Gorizia bivouac. At first, you follow a winding path along the left bank of the White Stream, but the path quickly becomes steeper, and from the path, which is mostly through the forest, you have beautiful views of the jumps, rapids and pools of the White Stream. Višthen the forest thins out a few times, opening up a beautiful view that stretches from the nearby peaks to the border mountains between Slovenia and Itali. Višje cross a few more torrents before passing a spring and climbing up to the restored Brunner hut.
Pass the hut on the right, then continue in the direction of the Gorizia bivouac and the Corsi hut (before the hut, the path of the Saxon King to the left, the Velika Glava path slightly to the right). After the hut, the path returns to the woods, through which you continue for a few minutes, followed by a short traverse up a slightly steeper slope. After crossing, the path turns right and crosses Beli potok. On the other side of the stream, gradually pass between dwarf pines, where you climb quite steeply with increasingly beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Višje the trail turns left and leads to a marked crossroads from which we continue straight towards the Gorizia bivouac (to the right, the notch of the White Stream, located between Rogljič and Lepo glava).
The eastern slopes continue to climb steeply, and when the slope turns into cirque at 1950 m, the next crossroads is reached.
Here the path branches off to the left to the Gorizia bivouac, a good minute away, from which you can continue along the Centenary Trail, while we continue straight on towards the Krniški notch.
A few minutes of easy walking follows, and then we reach the foot of Krnička notch, where the path becomes quite steep, and the rubble makes it harder to follow. After about half an hour, we climb up the Krniško stubble, where the Centenary Trail joins us from the left, and we start descending the other side towards the Corsi hut.
The Viš trail branches off to the right at a lower point, and we continue left in the familiar direction, going left or straight ahead at the next crossroads. A short walk later, we reach the Corsi hut, from which we have a nice view. Bele vode - hut Brunner 1:15, hut Brunner - bivouac Gorizia 1:15, bivouac Gorizia - Krniška stub 0:45, Krniška stub - hut Corsi 0:45.
