Črno jezero on Pohorje

Description of lake:
Črno jezero on Pohorje is a man-made lake. Around 6000 BC, at the end of the Ice Age, the then inhabitants of Pohorje deepened the marshy surface and turned it into a lake. The size of the lake was further increased in the mid-19th century by the harvesting of logs in the valley. Jezerc, which is home to rare species of flora and fauna, today covers about 50 hectares.
