Huhnerkogel/Košenjak

Description of peak:
Huhnerkogel lies north of Dravograd and the River Drava on the border with neighbouring Austria.
Huhnerkogel is accessible on foot or by car from Dravograd. By car, you can continue 6.5 km to the Church of St. John the Baptist on Ojstrica. It is also possible to reach the house on Huhnerkogel from the Church of St. John the Baptist - on a dirt road. From the Church of St. John the Baptist on Ojstrica we have a 30-minute walk to the house on Huhnerkogel with a beautiful view on the south side towards Pohorje, Uršlji Mountain-Plešivec, Pec, Raduha and further on towards the Kamniško-Savinja Alps. From the house on Huhnerkogel to the summit, the trail takes us through the forest for about an hour's walk. If you walk from Dravograd, it will take you about 3 to 4 hours to get to the top. Huhnerkogel is a mountain that is suitable for walking and for getting fit.
