Bazilika Marije Pomagaj na Brezjah is the Slovenian National Shrine of the Virgin Mary. From the basilica or the surrounding area, you have a beautiful view of part of Julian Alps, Karawanks and the Kamink Savinja Alps. Several walking, hiking and pilgrimage trails begin at the basilica and are marked with information boards, one of the more popular being the Brezjanska Trail of Peace, which leads past the Peračica waterfall. Recently, the Rosary Trail, which is shaped like a rosary and is also considered to be the largest natural rosary in the world, has also become increasingly popular.
