Yesterday afternoon in light snowfall on winter remnants. Classical variant almost fully dry. Two slightly annoying snow traverses, last in gully just below summit on still holding snow. Sun and clear when I was at pasture. Diligent marker cleaned from Šija (still some snow there to Srednji vrh) towards Zelenica.

Yesterday almost loop, start from Tinčkova in Završnica, past hut at Završnica source to Šija saddle, then through scree to path junction with Zelenica. Path almost fully dry, of that annoying summit snowfield little left and no bother. On ridge just below summit snow in holes still, good for refreshment these days. Descended back to Šija saddle, then other side Srednji vrh via unmarked trail over Zagon to start.

Vrtača, this year a bit later, gentians already wilted, no more Carniolan lilies, but still full of flowers intoxicatingly scenting pathside, pinks, cyclamens, marmots, ....

Oh, my photos are from Wednesday, I'm always later with posts, tomorrow Stol from Zelenica or from Tinčkova hut is still planned. On Wednesday we skipped this plan due to bad afternoon weather forecast.

I'm interested in the unmarked ascent to Vrtača via the southeast ridge from Suho ruševje. Are there any traces (cairns, path) for easier orientation? And also - what's the difficulty? Thanks for the answer.

At the path junction to Suho Rušje there's a cairn, in Suho Rušje where the path branches to Mala glava there's also a cairn, then follow tracks and cairns along the ridge. It's quite visible where to go. I was there end of this June, attaching photos where you can see well what's ahead:

Today I did a circular tour from Ljubelj: ascent via southeast ridge, descent via marked path. Contrary to forecasts, cloudy and foggy all day, so no photos either. The path is very nice, easy to follow, lots of cairns and not difficult. Thanks for the info (turbo: your link didn't work unfortunately). Found pictorial path description at: "Vrtača via southwest ridge from 29.11.2011". These photos clearly show the route.

Janez.novak today even a super camera couldn't work miracles. I fully agree with you on the path. I don't know who needs the cairn at the start of the path turning into Suho rušje where it's really already a highway.
