You can get to Vršič on foot too. From Trenta a marked path leads to it, starting near the hut at the Soča spring.

Isn't it the path in the picture that joins the road to Šupca!?, the marked path goes through the "nursery" or Huda ravan, and comes under the pass to the road (ruins).

True. The upper part of the path wasn't walked on the marked trail. It was by inspiration.

The Vršič road climbs from Trenta to Vršič in sunny turns. It was really pleasant to walk it.

I'm wondering how you usually descend from Sovna glava to Koča na Gozdu??! One option is descent to the entrance of Kopiščarjevo and then along the marked path to Erjavčeva koča. The other is to Poštarski dom and then mule track to Erjavčeva koča. Am I wrong? Which of these two paths to Erjavčeva koča seems more sensible to you? From Erjavčeva koča down I only know that "intestinal" mule track and the option to join the "main" mountain path to Vršič, which hits the road a bit lower than Koča na Gozdu, so again quite uncomfortable. What are your experiences? Maybe some other more sensible path? Thanks and best!

I last time (last year in September) did it so I followed the streambed down, and came right close to Koča na Gozdu along it, then some 1 km on the road. Otherwise, that's the problem when going to Hanzovo, no path down at all, except wild descent into the valley on scree from entrance to Kopiščarjevo

Was there Sunday, so a bit late with description, but it'll be nice this weekend too. By car to second serpentine, then on foot. Plowed but icy to Gozd hut, then to top easy. Wonderful weather Sunday.
